Sydney, 1st May, 2014 – Smartphone users receive a double dosage of good news today, as LG Electronics Australia (LG) and Optus announce two firsts for the Australian market - the L70 is the first of the L SeriesIII range to come to our shores, and it is also the first handset in Australia to receive the much-anticipated KnockCode™ feature.

Consumers can purchase the sleek and sophisticated L70 exclusively via the Optus network at a very affordable $179 for a prepaid handset. And if the highly-competitive pricing isn’t reason enough, the mid-tier device comes installed with all the software trimmings and features of a premium model.

The L70 is the first handset in Australia to feature KnockCode™, which allows users to unlock the handset with a personalised sequence of taps, enabling added security and convenience. It is also one of the first pre-paid devices to come fully equipped with the fast, stylish and intuitive Android 4.4 KitKat software.

The handset’s features pack a real punch too, with its slim design and metallic finishes, 5 megapixel camera with multipoint autofocus, impressive battery life and 4.5 inch IPS touchscreen display which delivers vivid colours and exceptional viewing clarity.

“We are delighted to announce the arrival of both the L70 and KnockCode™ in Australia. Consumers’ needs are at the heart of all our product and software developments, and the marriage of the mid-tier handset and premium software, offers customers a unique, affordable and attractive package,” said Lambro Skropidis, General Manager Marketing at LG Electronics Australia.

The L70 is available now exclusively via the Optus network, for $179 as a pre-paid single SIM handset in black. The handset can be purchased online and from YES Optus, Target, Kmart, Officeworks, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman and Australia Post stores.
