LG Canada appoints Eric Agius as Chief Operating Officer

Former President and General Manager of Nike Canada brings 20 years domestic and  international retail experience.

Mississauga, ON, April 23, 2009  — LG  Electronics Canada today announced the appointment of Eric Agius to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Agius brings a wealth of global  brand experience and remarkable business sense to LG Canada as the former  President and General Manager of Nike Canada.

"Eric’s  impressive accomplishments as a senior business manager will serve us well at LG  Canada where we are growing and redefining the company every day,” said Mr. William Cho, President and CEO of LG Canada. “Eric shares in my vision for the company to become the number one consumer electronics brand in Canada by 2010, and his engaging communications and leadership skills will be critical to our  success. As the  first COO for LG Canada, Mr. Agius will play a critical role in driving sales, marketing and supply chain management as well as mobile communications  strategies. His primary focus will be on the continued growth of the company  and the further development of LG as a premier brand in Canada.

In addition to his leadership role at Nike Canada, Mr. Agius has also served as the President and General Manager for Nike Chile and Bolivia where he managed the  company’s emerging Brand presence and business to drive profitable growth in  just 18 months. Mr. Agius spent 14 years with Nike, including time at Nike  world headquarters in Portland, Oregon, as Logistics Manager for the Americas  region.
