(Vancouver, BC – October 26, 2010) LG Electronics Canada and Canada~Snowboard have renewed its partnership for another season as ‘Tier 1’ national team partners.  LG provides the Canada~Snowboard team programs with essential support for success, both at the national and international levels. As the highest level sponsor for its second year, LG is renewing its role as the official Consumer Electronics, Large Appliances and Mobile Handsets sponsor of the Canadian Snowboard Team for the 2010/2011 season.

“After an amazing two years, we couldn’t be happier about continuing our commitment to the Canada~Snowboard team through our tier 1 sponsorship,” says Colin Bettam, vice-president of marketing, LG Electronics Canada. “Both Canada~Snowboard and LG Electronics Canada pride themselves on achieving excellence in style, commitment and performance, which makes us a perfect match.”

LG has found the snowboarding demographic to be an engaging and dynamic fit for its brand. The energetic, youthful nature of snowboarding culture leads to a wide range of exciting and substantial retail promotional opportunities, both on the slopes and off.

“We have made significant strides in the value we bring to our partners over the past several years,” says Peter Cosentino, director of business development at Canada~Snowboard. “LG Electronics Canada will benefit from VIP hospitality opportunities, exclusive consumer experiences, key branding offerings, promotions, and much more -- all part of the significant return on investment that our valued partners such as LG enjoy.”

In 2010, the Canada~Snowboard team rocked the snowboarding world with three Olympic medals, including two gold medals, 33 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup medals and three Crystal Globes, including the overall Women’s title by Maëlle Ricker.

Canada~Snowboard puts its partners in front of thousands of Canadian consumers throughout the winter season. In addition to significant opportunities at a grassroots level, Canada~Snowboard can give its partners significant exposure during high profile FIS World Cup events held within Canada, including stops in Stoneham, Quebec and Calgary, Alberta.

New for 2010/2011, Canada~Snowboard has some unique new partnerships available that will allow for some exciting niche marketing opportunities, including Women in Snowboarding; Canadian Para-snowboard program; and Rip Ride & Recycle.
