LG’s SUPER UHD TV HITS THE CANADIAN MARKET
TORONTO, ON, April 15, 2016 - LG Electronics (LG) is excited to announce their newest line of SUPER UHD TVs are now in Canada. These TVs will be available in 3 model types: UH9500 series (86” and 65”), UH8500 series (75”, 65”, 60” and 55”) and UH7700 series (65”, 60” and 55”); delivering a dynamic viewing experience from any angle with over a billion colours, smoother motion, elevated brightness and smarter technology that is easy to use.
“LG’s SUPER UHD TV goes above and beyond standard 4K picture quality and is completely new to the home entertainment landscape in Canada,” said Abraham Cherian, Home Electronics Senior Brand Manager, LG Electronics Canada. “The fact that we’ve incorporated several unique technologies into our SUPER UHD TVs, means that Canadians can bring the theatre experience right to their homes.”
LG has specially designed the display panel with in-plane switching (IPS) to create an IPS 4K Quantum Display, which delivers the best-in-class viewing experience that can reproduce over a billion rich colours from a wide viewing angle. The SUPER UHD TVs have HDR Super technology that will support High Dynamic Range (HDR) with Dolby VisionTM, expanding the breadth of contrast and colours for an enhanced contrast ratio and a wider range of colours. Lastly, LG’s award-winning, exclusive Smart TV platform, webOS 3.0, has been updated to deliver the most advanced features while keeping it user-friendly.
IPS 4K Quantum Display
LG’s specially designed IPS 4K Quantum Display panel can reproduce more shades of colours with finer gradation: over a billion rich colours in all. The Quantum Display yields a more accurate and lifelike picture to give the best television experience from any angle.
HDR Super with Dolby Vision
LG’s SUPER UHD TVs support HDR Super with Dolby Vision to create an impressive television experience. It delivers superior brightness and deeper blacks to provide an enhanced contrast ratio and a wider range of colours, making images brighter and bolder.
The latest generation of LG’s exclusive Smart TV platform, webOS 3.0 is available in every SUPER UHD TV, adding advanced new features while making the television user-friendly. With features such as the Magic Remote, Magic Mobile Connection and the Magic Zoom, a built-in function that can zoom-in on any part of the screen for a clearer picture, the television interface becomes more intuitive and user-friendly.
“Here at LG we’ve engineered a truly premium 4K television with some of our most advanced technologies and design features,” said Marina Tran-Vu, Brand Manager of Home Entertainment, LG Electronics Canada. “As more HDR content becomes available, our SUPER UHD TVs will be able to process and display the content like never before – brighter, bolder and better.”
