Rated 1 out of 5 by from Incessant Buzzing and Frosty Freezer I had my fridge installed 3 weeks ago. The first week I was amazed by it. It was completely silent and kept perfect temperature. But a week later that all changed. I came home from work and the fridge was making a loud buzzing sound. It was a horrifying pitch that hit your ears just the wrong way. I opened up my freezer and my items were covered in frost. I thought maybe something had glitched so I unplugged the fridge for a day. When I plugged it back in the buzzing was coming intermittently. By week two the buzzing was almost constant, in varying degrees of loudness. I didn’t even want to go home it was so awful. I could hear it all the way from upstairs (video attached if you want to hear what I was living with). My salesman called for a service for me at LG and covered the costs for me. The service tech couldn’t figure out the problem, so after the second visit he said “It’s normal for freezers to frost up and the buzzing is normal”. I said “My parents 10 year old fridge doesn’t do that” and he proceeds to tell me “Fridges are made different now”. Um, what?? They’re made louder and frosty now?? I don’t think so! I tried to call LG to get a return permit, but it was difficult to communicate my problem due to a language barrier. I told them directly I was unhappy with my product and would like to return it. They should’ve just complied rather than causing me this horrible stress over having spent all this money on an expensive new fridge that is defective. Luckily, after 3 weeks of being just sick over this the manager at the store I bought it from stepped in and has taken care of this for me. In a few days the horrifying fridge will be out of my house and replaced with another brand, thank God. One that doesn’t have a defective buzzing linear compressor. All in all, I would recommend staying away from linear compressor fridges. Too bad. The first week was an absolute delight.

I've had THREE service providers contact me ON the day of my appointments, that they DO NOT support my fridge in my state! Something that would've REALLY helped for LG to know, before scheduling and rescheduling THREE different service providers. I finally contacted a repair service in my area and now they, the service/repair provider, is notifying me that without an LG approved account #, I will have to pay them for the service and repair, NOT LG! I'm sincerely disappointed by the LG brand, service and quality of customer service... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loud buzzing noise We bought this fridge in January 2018, and within weeks noticed an occasional buzzing noise. An LG technician came and told us "that's normal". However, over the past year the buzzing has gradually gotten worse! And now the 12-month warranty period has finished! (even though the fridge had this problem from the start). We are frustrated with this fridge and with the LG technician. Not recommended.

This refrigerator is not yet 1 year old and has had 4 visits from a local repair company to fix a seal in the freezer which my wife and I are not convinced that it is fixed yet. In addition the ice maker for this refrigerator has stopped working and this refrigerator is not 1 year old. WE WOULD NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR AGAIN, IT HAS BEEN A VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.
