What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding HG TV This was my first HD TV purchase and my first LG purchase. I can't begin to tell you how happy I have been with this purchase. The picture quality, color, sound and ease of use, is wonderful. The HD channels are so clear, it is like a whole new TV experience. It was very simple and easy to set-up and install. I highly recommend this TV and LG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great First Flat Screen TV Set up was simple, for a non electronic type the set had more than enough inputs. Wished the set had a way to identify the inputs attached if any, would be most helpful for my wife instead of AV1 or HEMI1

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very satisfied We received our TV as a gift from our son. We are enjoying the sharpness and color. Our old TV was a 27", so this 42" plasma is a great improvement. This size of the picture and quality of picture are awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pictute This TV has a fantastic picture. You do not need 1080P on this size screen unless maybe for blueray. Since I do not have blueray, I cannot comment. This TV was a great value. The only drawback is the glare. I have this TV in a bedroom. Unfortunately, I have a window above my bed that shines directly on the TV. Even with blinds there is much glare. By putting up a room darkening shade, I was able to fully enjoy the great picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXTREMELY HAPPY I RECEIVED MY NEW TV ON CHRISTMAS EVE AND HAVE BEEN ENJOYING IT EVER SINCE. I WISH I HAD BOUGHT TWO OF THEM AS I DON'T THINK I COULD HAVE FOUND ANYTHING ANY BETTER FOR THE PRICE I PAID AND THE QUALITY I'VE GOTTEN. I REALLY WANTED THE NEXT SIZE LARGER BUT DIDN'T HAVE THE ROOM FOR IT. IF THIS LASTS AS LONG AS MY OLD CRT DID I KNOW I'LL BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy This is our first high definition television. We went to the store expecting to buy an LCD model, but we were so impressed by the vibrant colors of the plasma that we bought this one instead. We have been very happy with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LGfan We bought this television for our parents for Christmas. We got it pretty cheap for the size the television was. I have to say that plasma is given a bad rap for such a stunning television. From what I have read, they are cheaper to produce than LCD's, so the savings generally get passed on to the customer. I will definitely consider a plasma when my 47LH55 kicks the bucket, but hopefully not for a really long time, and with LG's prowess for quality it looks like it will be a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow This is my first HDTV purchase, which obviously lead to getting HD Service from my provider. I bet I have the same feeling as the earlier generations did once they invented the wheel, how did we live before? The picture is extremely realistic, I even hooked up LG 5.1 Blue Ray surround sound and what more could you want? I can see whether the guy in the 5th row has jalepenos on his nachos or not and to take it even further, I can almost hear him crunch the chips when he eats them! If there was a gripe (only one), it would be when the setting is on energy save, I have started to notice the screen switching back and forth from its various energy saving settings (brightness). It's not all that noticeable, but that would have to be a gripe if I had to have one. Great TV, great buy, you'll be very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scared at first, but not anymore I will have to say, at first, I was very skeptical about purchasing a Plasma tv due to the rumors and problems that older units had. Burn-in was my biggest fear since I have digital cable and satellite television. Both use the info bars that are always in the same spot on the tv. After 6 months with this unit and moderate use, I am overwhelmed with the quality of this tv. The picture is brilliant in all lighting conditions and the unit sounds fantatsic. I especially like the light sensor on the unit that automatically adjust backlight setting according to the room's ambient light. I would definitely and already have recommended this unit to others. Well worth the price (which is very competitive anyway).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge Deal "For the price of this TV i don't think you can find a better plasma TV on the market. The picture is great, plenty of different options for picture settings, that you can fine tune to your liking or use one of the preset picture settings. Inputs and menu options are easy to use as well. Overall a great tv and a great value. Would recommend this TV to anyone!" I could not tell the difference between the 720p and 1080p in the 42 inch, the refresh rate is the key at 600Hz and the 2,000,000 contrast ratio aint bad either.

One of the easiest TV to set up and the plasma picture quality is like looking out the window in real time and the sound quality is fantastic. Anybody looking for a new plasma TV this is the one for you, 5 plus stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent This TV is better than any LCD tv I have ever seen, and was considering purchasing an LED but i'm glad I changed my mind because this LG Plasma TV is much better and works great at high altitude. I would strongly recommend, the picture quality and sound quality is brilliant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good screen for the price I was surprised to see how good the images see in this screen. Definitely, nothing surpasses a plasma. I loved the colors, bright and crisp as well as easyness to go through the entire setup menu. Two things that I would change are the frame; which is not as sturdy as I would like, and I would love if there would be more be features to prevent screen burning in the menu. Overall, I would give this screen a 4.5/5 Stars which is not bad at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This TV offers great picture quality at a great price. I appreciate that there is an HDMI input panel conveniently located on the side of the TV so you can plug your laptop in easily. There's also a USB input so you can plug in a hard drive. I just wish I could watch video files this way, but it only works for pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice & Easy This is my first HDTV and I am completely satisfied with it to date. The set up was a breeze. I initially set it up only with my cable provider which took only seconds. Then I added a simple antenna and picked up an amazing amount of channels. Limiting the channels to only the ones I wanted was very beneficial. I later hooked up my DVD player. The remote is well laid out and switching between input sources and picture modes is easy. In addition, I enjoyed the slide show feature when viewing all the pictures on my camera. Overall, I am pleased with the picture quality and feature set of this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Plasma TV After MUCH research, we finally took the plunge and purchased our first flat screen, an LG 42" plasma, the 42PQ30. We have been exceptionally pleased. It was set up perfectly right out of the box. It has worked flawlessly now for 6 months, and we would recommend LG to ANYONE looking to upgrade or make the move to high quality viewing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it, Love It, LOVE IT.... I am so spoiled now. The color is excellent, the picture is excellent and it has turned me into a couch potatoe. Well, I did that but it is because I am so happy with what I am watching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Image quality is superb and when you factor in the cost this is an outstanding value. Colors are rich without being over-saturated, contrast is deep and blacks and whites are accurate. There are a nice variety of inputs and outputs and settings allow for a wide range of user preferences.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome picture I purchased this product to replace a projection screen TV. I couldn't believe the differnce in the quality of the picture, it is amazing. I don't know why I waited so long to upgrade to Plasma. This is an excellant product for the price. Hope to eventually have one in each room of the house. Life is Good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality The picture quality is great. There's no burn-in problem for me - I set contrast and brightness to 50. A great feature is the automatic sound adjustment - it avoids sudden increase of volume, as it often happens during commercials
