What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very dissapointed I bought the five burner gas cooktop 3 years ago, the unit itself works great, but the numbers and icons indicating heat level and which burner each dial controls are getting erased each time I wipe down the cooktop. The LG logo is set with a different ink and it looks fine. Now one of the nobs has broken (they are plastic painted silver, not stainless steel like the rest of the unit). I have contacted LG to see if I can upgrade to a different cooktop, maybe different knobs, still waiting on response... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oven constantly breaks! 3 times replaced the upper thermostat over 3 years, first time due to self cleaning, last 2 times only because we were cooking normal meals. Never used the self cleaning again. Pray every time we use the oven. Now the 4th overall repair on a thermostat, but this time its the lower oven. You would think someone should get them to issue a recall of this product. It is truly an engineering design flaw. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very impressed with this product We completely remodeled our kitchen in 2012 and installed the top of the line LG appliances. As for the oven, yes it has failed on the self clean function the third time we used the self clean. The high temperature thermostats fail due to insufficient heat evacuation from the rear of the unit. The time that we had to wait for the part to arrive was ridiculous. I looked on line for the part and it worth at the most $11.00 Canadian. You could change it yourself if you have any idea of electrical trouble shooting. Its an easy fix. As for the oven in general it cooks great and the convection on both top and bottom are fantastic. I love this oven and only wish that I could plug a USB cable into it to transfer recipes into its data base. Maybe they will allow this feature some day. Would I buy this oven again? No problem. What would I change? The amount of space in the opening for the oven to sit in. I would allow for better heat evacuation in the cabinet next time. I am planning to add a small fan and vent tubing in the cabinet the next time the oven has to be removed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I'll never buy an LG oven again I've had the LG double wall ovens for about 3 years now. Fortunately nothing has catastrophically broken on either oven, but I have several major complaints: 1) After running the self-cleaning cycle (carefully following the instructions), both ovens have warped/widened so the shelves no longer fit on the shelf racks. 2) The meat probe function allows you to set a temperature for the probe, but when that temperature is reached, the oven is just automatically shut off with no alarm sounding. You have to be watching the oven to know when the temperature is reached :( 3) Preheating the ovens takes a LONG, LONG time. If you want to preheat to say 350 degrees, once the temp reaches about 335-340, it starts cycling the heating element on/off so that it VERY SLOWLY creeps up to 350. And occasionally the thermostat gets confused and preheats and preheats for 30 minutes or more. And even if I force the preheat temp to be lower than the displayed current temp, it still says "preheating".

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Service After Sale Great features and excellent looks. When we remodeled our kitchen three years ago we outfitted all appliances with LG units and all top of the line models. We also purchased new front loader washer and dryer units. In all cases for LG post warranty it is very difficult to obtain service. Local company does provide good service. This oven developed some of the common problems when using the self cleaning feature that renders the oven unusable. Very expensive to have repaired and happens frequently after using self cleaning feature. We need to replace this unit and will not be buying LG.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would not recommend this product Have had this double oven for 4 years & have had to have the upper oven repaired 4 times for the same reason. It won't heat up. If I set temp up past 350 degrees for several usages then it affects it & it stops working. Luckily it only affects the upper oven. What I paid for this I should not continue to have this problem

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Oven This is an excellent oven set, easy to use and easy to clean. Checked the oven temperature and it was dead on from the factory. Love the touch screen makes setting complex functions easy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't use the Self Clean This oven by and large works well. Unfortunately ours is now broken for the third time, each time following a self clean cycle, and displays an F9 error. LG doesn't acknowledge a problem with the design. Internet search shows this is not an unusual failure either. LG Customer Support advice was to only use "LOW" setting for cleaning which we've done since the first failure. Last time a tech repaired it (10 months ago) he suggested drilling 2" holes in the cupboard above the oven to allow for more ventilation. I promise I'll never buy another LG appliance. Ever.
