LG launches new range of Blu-ray home cinema systems -the HB954PB and HB354BS

Las Vegas, 07 January 2008 - LG Electronics (LG), a global leader in consumer electronics, has today announced the launch of two new Blu-ray home cinema systems (HCS); the HB954PB and the HB354BS. Unveiled at CES 2009, both systems have been designed to bring the most compelling and exciting cinematic experience to your home, thanks to the combination of leading Blu-ray technology and specially tuned audio by Mr Mark Levinson.

With enhanced picture quality and superior sound, the Blu-ray home cinematic experience makes watching your favourite movie in the comfort of your own home more like sitting in the front row of the cinema. Crisper definition and richer colours means movies are brought to life with detail to provide the ultimate in high definition.

Thanks to the latest interactive technology known as BD Live, viewers can go one step further than normal DVDs and download extra content via the internet; bonus features, gag reels, deleted scenes, subtitles and much more. Backward compatibility means that even standard DVD play-back is improved.

Boasting an audio system specially tuned by the world-renowned guru of high-end audio, Mr Mark Levinson, both the HB954PB and the HB354BS, which is ideally designed for smaller rooms, produce a quality of sound more typically found in systems three times the price. From explosions to gun-fights, from creaking doors to chain-saws, from discos to full philharmonic orchestras, the virtual surround sound will guarantee you will feel like you are part of the action.

Both systems feature full iPod compatibility, so that consumers can shuffle through their music collection via the remote-control, whilst charging their iPod. HDMI in and HDMI out also enables simple connectivity between video products and the TV, and upscales the picture quality from standard DVDs.

Daniel Aziz, marketing manager for digital media at LG Electronics, says, "LG wants to bring the fun and thrill of watching great movies at the cinema into the home. Thanks to the LG Blu-ray home cinematic experience consumers can now watch films, or TV, in the highest-quality possible, without spending a penny at the box-office. The HB954PB and HB354BS really create the art of perfect home entertainment"

Both systems will be available in May 2009.
