The LG Head unveiled

LG Arena focal point produced by renowned artist Paul Bonomini

Created by contemporary artist Paul Bonomini, the giant LG head was commissioned by LG Electronics to commemorate the opening of the LG Arena in October 2009.

The 80 kg sculpture, which took 6 weeks to build by hand, is made from 100% recyclable aluminum mesh and can be seen hanging 3m above the ground within the entrance of the  ForumLIVE, LG Arena. It was designed to depict the venue’s ‘Life’s Good LIVE’ theme, visualised by a red “energy ribbon” motif that represents the excitement of a live entertainment experience.

Commenting on the LG Head, Paul says “It’s a really interesting object to be confronted by in the LG Arena,” says Paul. “I hope visitors will get a sense of enjoyment and fun from it. The LG Head is instantly recognisable as a face - it’s got a real human connection. I hope people will relate and enjoy it.”

He continues “I think it’s really positive that companies like LG are prepared to commission a piece of work like this. Yes, it expresses the “Life’s Good” idea, but it also stands in its own right.”

Paul worked alongside creative agency Brainstorm to complete the designs of the LG Arena.
