Choice, Australian Consumer Group, ranked LG Solar module as No.1 performer


LG’s Solar module won in the solar modules test conducted by Australian consumer group, Choice. Choice ( is an Australian consumer advocacy group that gathers consumer opinion and provides purchase guides for various products. Choice announced the results of its evaluation of 15 solar products in its regular publication magazine in March 2017. The evaluation was conducted by installing 15 solar modules from the end of 2015 to the end of 2016, testing the power generation, cooperating with CSIRO PV Performance Laboratory in Newcastle, NSW.

The test summed the score based on the actual output of the first purchase, and the actual output after one year versus the claimed output of the module. LG won the first place with a total score of 96% through the NeON product (LG300N1C-B3). The LG NeON recorded 306.8 W at initial measurement that is a higher output than the originally claimed output 300 W. Compared that other modules record lower output than claimed output, LG meets more than consumers expected. It also recorded 293.7 W a year later, showing only 2% lower output compared to the claimed output.

The quality that is not revealed by the numerical value is not guaranteed, but it is very important to confirm through the reliability of the brand or the product as a factor affecting the direct power generation as shown in the test. The 300 W NeON model used in the test is a result of LG's commitment to quality, though it is not currently selling model. LG is conducting strict quality inspection more strictly than international standard, and producing all the products in Gumi, Korea through an automated system.
