LG TO PROVIDE GRASSHOPPER SOLAR WITH ADVANCED SOLAR MODULES FOR ONTARIO RESIDENTS
LG’s NeON® 2 to Provide Half Residential Market Cap of OPA’s MicroFIT Pro-gram
LG Electronics (LG) has entered into an agreement with Canada’s leading turnkey solar power solutions company, Grasshopper Solar, to provide 25MW of LG’s best-selling NeON® 2 solar modules in 2018. This would provide half of the Ontario residential market cap of 50MW/year as set by the Ontario Power Authority’s MicroFIT program.
Under the agreement, LG will provide 330W and 335W versions of its industry leading NeON® 2 solar modules to Grasshopper Solar for lease to Canadian home-owners in the 2018 calendar year. With enough capacity to power 2,500 Ontario homes, the NeON® 2 solar modules feature LG’s innovative Cello Technology™ to minimize energy loss by allowing electric current to flow more freely and efficiently.”
“As the largest leasing solution provider in Canada’s solar residential market, Grasshopper is the perfect partner for NeON® 2,” said Kim Seok-Ki, vice president in LG’s solar business. “They are the right partner for LG because like us, they share a passion for quality and performance.”
“We were looking for high efficiency products for space constraint roof projects and LG was able to deliver exactly what we needed,” said Jason Hibbard, vice president of residential operations for Grasshopper Solar. “We look forward to many opportunities to work with LG going forward, as they clearly understand the needs of Canadian clean energy consumers.”
