NeON® 2 BiFacial, Ready for the Launching

LG Electronics plans to launch its advanced bifacial solar panel, NeON® 2 BiFacial.

The NeON® 2 BiFacial aims to offers amazing performance to customer with its bifacial effect.



1. What is Bifacial?
While conventional solar modules limit solar cells to the front panel, the NeON® 2 BiFacial features transparent solar cells on both sides.
This allows the panel to collect light reflected from the ground and greatly boosts overall efficiency.




2. Bifacial Effect
1) Effect 1 – Under snow
The Bifacial module can take advantage of the high reflectance of the snow to produce power by rear side.
The reflection on the back also contribute to accelerates the melting of the snow covering the front side by risen module temperature.
So During snow season, higher Yield can be expected than monofacial product.



2) Effect 2 – Under Low Irradiance
The Bifacial gain under low irradiance is relatively high because of its scattered light by cloud



3) Effect 3 – Additional Energy Yield based on ground type
Producing an amazing surplus yield when compared to a monofacial model, the NeON2 BiFacial module generates 385W(72cell product) of power from the front side of the panel, which is supplemented by the power generated on the backside - up to 500W under optimal conditions.



In addition, LG LGNeON® 2 BiFacial was designed to prevent back side shading for a high Bifaciality Coefficient.



The NeON® 2 BiFacial will be launched in June from America, and LG will expand its availability to other country soon.
