LG Electronics introduces First Time Ever in India -"Global Home Chef Award 2008"

New Delhi, November 14, 2008: LG Electronics India the leading consumer durable brand in the country organised a cookery contest at Le Meridian today to announce the winner LG Home Chef Awards 2008 in Dubai in December. The contest was judged by the renowned chefs Nita Mehta and Komal Taneja.

The winner of the contest was Ms. Reena Mathews from Kochi who prepared Passion Prawns and Chocolate truffle cake.

Speaking after winning Ms. Mathews said: "Its an honor to be winning and being associated with LG and I thank LG to give amateur chefs like me a vast platform such as this to showcase my talent."

LG has been organising this Chef Programme from last seven years across its branches in India along with 100 chefs to promote the spirit of healthy cooking in the country. This year we have gone ahead with the LG Microwave Cookery Queen Contest organised in over 10 cities. The winner become the Indian representative at the Global LG Home Chef Award to be held in Dubai on December 10, 2008 with participants from ten countries. The criterion to participate was to be a specialist but not a professional Chef.

Speaking on the occasion, the finalists of the LG cookery contest voiced "We are really delighted to be a part of this innovative contest. This initiative by LG has provided us the platform to showcase our talent & skills."
