Breaking new ground with 4K Ultra High Definition,84” screen size, 2.2 speaker system, and Smart TV Features.

LG Electronics (LG) haveintroduced the world’s first 84”Ultra High Definition (Ultra HD) TV in the New Zealandmarket. LG’s Ultra HD TV is the company’s response to growing consumer demand for larger, more immersive home TVs with improved picture quality and greater functionality.

The result is a remarkable TV with an enormous 84”screen. The innovative display technology of Ultra HD brings a resolution of 3840 x2160*, and with over 8 million pixels it has picture clarityfour times higher than existingFull HD and a 2.2 speaker system together to collectively set a new standard for home entertainment.

“The Ultra HD TV market is still in its infancy but it isimportant for LG to show leadership in this space,” said Richard Bryant, National Marketing Manager, LG Electronics New Zealand, “LG’s Ultra HD TV represents a technological breakthrough with a whole new level of home viewing experience because it offers a collection of the most advanced LG TV technology. Whilst Ultra HD is the stand-out feature, we think people are also going to be really interested in the other benefits that the TV has to offer such as LG’s Cinema 3D Smart TV functions.”

“The 84” is equivalent in size to four 42” TVs with images rendered in spectacular detail”, Bryant enthuses.

With an 84” screen size the home 3D TV experience has just gotten bigger, with LG’s CINEMA 3D technology ensures that the impressively large display provides an incredibly immersive 3D experience. 3D Depth Control allows viewers to fine-tune the ‘distance’ between near and far objects on the screen for a custom 3D experience. The 3D Sound Zooming featureanalyses on-screen 3D objects and altersthe sound level according to their location thus synchronising the audio to the 3D images on the screen.

The Ultra HD TV also includes LG’s Resolution Upscaler Plus**, which allows images from current HD/SD external sources to be rendered in higher detail. This is amuch needed solution to help stretch lower resolution files to a larger picture size.

LG’s Magic Remote with voice control allows users to intuitively access and navigates the Home Dashboard. LG’s Smart TV now includes approximately 1,400 appsand access to a growing community of premium content services such as 3D World with a wide array of movies and games. Even more media content can be accessed via externalportable devices such as laptops, mobile phones, tablets, and flash memory drives to help connect to the home network using Smart Share Plus.

In addition, the embedded 2D to 3D conversion engine expands the availability of 3D content.Dual Play takes head-to-head game play to a whole new level of sophistication by allowing opponents to sit side-by-side and simultaneously see different images on the same screen. With Dual Play, split-screen gaming is a thing of the past and both gamers get to enjoy the whole 84” screen.

LG’s Ultra HD TV also features a 2.2 speaker systemconsisting of left and right 10W speakers and two 15W woofers. This reinforces the sound to produce a richaudio experience that suitably complements the extraordinary visuals produced by the massive screen.

LG’s 84” Ultra HD TV will be available in New Zealand from mid November 2012.
