MANILA, Feb. 5, 2014 – Art takes center-stage in the realm of TV technology as the world’s first LG Gallery OLED TV finally surfaces in the Philippines.

Integrating highly-developed technology and classic art appreciation, leading global innovator LG Electronics reveals its newest TV masterpiece—LG Gallery OLED TV (model 55EA8800).  As its name implies, the 55-inch unit is mounted onto the wall, becoming a design item in any room as well as a work of art.

Striking images, sound, performance

Aside from maximizing its slim width, the LG Gallery OLED TV exhibits aesthetic beauty with its world-class picture quality.  Its 4 Color Pixel technology adds a white sub-pixel to the conventional RGB colors to enhance both color range and accuracy.  And with Infinite Contrast, each pixel controls its own luminance, producing depth, tone, and contrast ratio beyond conventional measures.

Adding to the LG Gallery OLED TV’s viewing pleasure is the sensational auditory impact delivered by the LG Canvas Speaker.  Behind the canvas cover of the TV frame lies a powerful speaker system that blasts refined sound from two sets of speakers and two woofers, allowing space-efficiency and maintaining its minimalist design.

Another first-rate factor in LG’s advanced OLED technology is its Absolute Motion Clarity.  The OLED TV’s response speed is over 1,000 times faster than an LED TV, allowing viewers to enjoy fast-moving scenes with completely blur-free, crystal-clear pictures.  The LG Gallery OLED TV showcases the Perfect Viewing Angle, in which consistent contrast and zero distortions are displayed in any angle being viewed.

Partnership with BenCab

To express art appreciation, the brand has partnered with renowned Filipino painter Benedicto Cabrera, also known as BenCab, as the product officially launches in the country.  Awarded National Artist of the Philippines for Visual Arts in 2006, BenCab has produced a number of masterpieces that depict the progression of Philippine society from the mid-60s up to the contemporary era.  Enriched with depth and details, his works embody the very essence of the LG Gallery OLED TV.

Throughout the duration of the partnership, three of BenCab’s artworks will be displayed in the LG Gallery OLED TV.  Purchasers of the product will be able to enjoy these paintings embedded in the TV and access them through Gallery Mode, an app which converts the TV to a singular art gallery featuring pieces other timeless painters such as Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, and Pierre-August Renoir.  Besides delivering the picture perfect quality of an OLED display, it elevates the owner’s room to a gallery of fine art.

Now available in Philippines

The world’s first LG Gallery OLED TV is now available to the local market.  Tech and lifestyle media were able to experience the product up close at the Poliform Showroom in Makati City, where this was mounted along with LG’s flagship Curved OLED TV which was launched on the fourth quarter of 2013.  The seamlessly curved 55-inch TV boasts of a shockingly-thin 4.3mm width and world-class WRGB technology which produces deeper and richer colors.

“LG has proven to uphold its leadership in the TV industry by being the first to launch both the Curved and Gallery OLED TVs in the country,” Jillian Lichauco, LG Electronics Philippines marketing and PR manager, said.  “With the newly-launched LG Gallery OLED TV, the rapid evolution of TVs was complemented with art, a field that can stand the test of time and is appreciated by people of different ages and preferences.  We’re very excited to launch this product to the Philippines, a very artistic and visual market.  It continues LG’s heritage of superior TV technology while elevating its beauty and elegance through striking works of art.”
