2011 is the year of SMART Living.

Inspired by its continuing success in the market this year, LG Electronics Philippines has shared a sneak peek of its plans and some of tomorrow’s innovations to offer a smart lifestyle to the consumers.

“We’re really excited to launch our smart innovations for next year,” said Mr. Lee Seungchul, president and managing director of LG Electronics Philippines. “Consumers will be surprised by how they can benefit from LG’s innovative, affordable solutions to some of today’s most challenging issues.”

OPTIMUS: at the center of the revolutionary change

Smartphones have become a new sensation that has almost revolutionized our daily lives. “We want LG OPTIMUS to be at the center of this revolutionary change,” Lee said.

Optimus is a  Latin word, which means “one of the best,” and now it is being used to stand for LG’s cutting edge electronic device series of smartphones and tablet PCs.

In the second half of 2010, LG launched state of the art LG Smartphone Optimus Series such as OPTIMUS GT540 and OPTIMUS ONE P500 with Android 2.2.

“Globally, the race is on to be No. 1 in the intensely competitive market, and LG in the Philippines is ready to contribute in the challenge with our exciting new set LG OPTIMUS series for next year,” Lee shared.

Dawn of SMART TV era

Raymond Hernandez, corporate marketing head of LG Electronics Philippines said: “The TV industry is facing quick changes as we embrace broadband technology, Web 2.0 and smart phones. Nowadays, more and more consumers are becoming connected and customizing devices according to their needs and wants. We can say that next year is indeed the high time for the dawn of what may call the ‘SMART TV era’.”

In early 2011, LG will unveil its contribution to the exciting new realm of INFINIA SMART TVs that build on pioneering developments in “NetCast” connected TVs.

LG’s INFINIA SMART TV features four main concepts: Easy, Fun, More and Better.

As the name suggests, Easy is about convenience of use; letting viewers use applications and access a range of premium and local content all on a single screen. Focusing on lifestyle-oriented content, Fun shows how LG’s INFINIA SMART TVs can deliver entertainment value in real life through TV applications. More is about consuming digital content and using Media Link to transfer even more content to the INFINIA SMART TV. Showing how it will make TV Better, LG is showcasing its quick links to premium and local content that TV viewers are most likely to use.

“With the introduction of our advanced INFINIA SMART TV, LG is able to offer a ‘Total Home Entertainment Solution’ enabling consumers to enjoy practically any digital content on any smart device,” Hernandez enthused.

Greater energy efficiency

“LG is changing the game for home appliances by leading consumers to a greener, healthier, smarter lifestyle,” Hernandez said.

With its latest core technologies such as Linear Compressor technology and new generation Inverter Direct Drive, LG is elevating home appliances above the realm of the functional to add something better to consumers’ lives and to the environment.

The new technologies are LG breakthrough innovations that deliver superior energy efficiency.

Generous meaning of life

Late last year, Typhoon Ondoy submerged Metro Manila into flood. As a response, LG placed and ran its LG Service Camp in Pasig, Marikina and Rizal. It served thousands of affected families by providing free repair of flood-damaged home entertainment and appliances.

“Smiles and appreciations from people gave us a smart and deep meaning of our slogan i.e., Life’s Good,” Lee shared. “Life is about sharing, not because you want to get something in return, but as a response from your heart to the blessings you have been receiving.”

LG plans to elevate corporate social responsibility by giving it a greater role in its Philippine operations next year.
