Good sound bar
I bough this to replace a sky sound box . This is far superior to the the sky sound box . Very clear and base is brilliant. I would definitely recommend it specifically with a LG tv .

I definitely recommend this sound bar it is amazing the sound is excellent if it is bass you are after this is the one for you and yes the neighbours they complain of the bass lol LG definitely know how to make amazing Products

Good sound for the price
I bought this sound bar along with the optional SP8 wireless rear speakers to replace my old LG wired surround system which was looking big, bulky (6 huge speakers) and wires coming out everywhere. The old system was louder but the SL6Y sound bar has more than enough volume for the average TV room.
I did lots of research online and yes could have bought one of the high end systems but I did not really want to spend as much money on a sound system as a new TV!
The more expensive systems as expected do have better reviews and indeed this system on many Audiophile websites got a bit of a kicking for its lack of bass and tinny treble but since setting mine up I have found it superb sounding for its price tag. I even saved £100 buying a manufacturer refurbished unit so this was even better value for money.
The system does not have the Dolby Atmos feature but the Dolby Virtual X still gives great surround sound.
When streaming music the system performs well through all five 6 Speakers.
The only negative (hence 4 stars) is it does not spread the front channel speakers sound wide enough but this maybe because we are too close to the TV. Maybe an option to adjust the speakers inside the bar somehow would be a good idea.
So unless you live in a room the size of the royal albert hall do not overlook this system by the reviews. My girlfriend is not into technology but was over the moon at the compactness and wire free set up too!
