The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our UK and Ireland legal team as an experienced commercial legal counsel. You will be an integral part of LG Electronics’ operations, both in terms of existing products and services, and new growth areas. This role will involve exposure to all members of the business including senior management so a can-do attitude and strong people skills are critical, as well as commercial acumen. The role will encompass a wide variety of commercial issues and transactions, varying greatly in nature, complexity and value.

 

 

Your Role & Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities will include researching and advising on the following:

 

·         Supply, procurement and distribution agreements

 

·         Antitrust including SDA’s

 

·         Compliance and related admin (including delivering training and compliance updates)

 

·         Data protection (including EU and UK GDPR, PECR and e-privacy, dealing with data subject requests, record keeping as required and negotiating and concluding data processing agreements)

 

·         Intellectual property

 

·         Marketing and advertising (including general ads, promotions and influencer activity)

 

·         Consumer law (for consumer facing terms such as warranties, consumer queries, b2c sales)

 

·         Commercial disputes and litigation

 

·         Property

 

·         New law/regulations that can impact any aspect of the business (the candidate may have exposure to trade and/or government bodies, where required)

 

The candidate should also use and promote the use of LG’s contract management system.

 

 

Skills, Education & Experience

·         5 years post qualification within England and Wales

·         LLB and LPC or any such equivalent

·         Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing

 

·         An interest in and knowledge of technology

 

·         In depth knowledge of contract and data protection law

 

·         Ability to balance legal risks with commercial needs

 

·         Excellent communicator and able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation (both oral and written)

 

·         A strong negotiator

 

·         Able to multitask with rapidly changing priorities in a dynamic environment

 

·         Self starter and able to work independently

 

·         Flexible, strong and self-assured personality

 

·         Commercial “client first” mentality
