Inspection
Each wafer is thoroughly examined and measured to eliminate defects, so only the best-quality wafers are selected.
Wet Etching
Selected wafers then undergo a wet etching process where the surfaces are immersed in acidic (multi) and alkaline (mono) solutions to help reduce light reflection.
Diffusion
N-type emitters are formed by loading P-element POCI3 gas into P-type wafers.
Anti Reflective Coating
The wafers are then coated with an anti-reflective (SiNx:H) film through a PECVD method which uses SiH4 and NH3 to reduce reflection and improve transmission.
Anti Reflective Coating
Metallic electrodes are composed to gather activated electrical carriers (electrons and holes) for each cell.
Sorting
Cells are finally measured and sorted by efficiency, as well as being classified by colour and electrical characteristics.
Tabbing
Each incoming wafer is checked again to eliminate any faults and defects.
Busing
Cells are then welded with strings by busing ribbons to meet the required power output.
Lay up
Cells are assembled with layers of glass, EVA film and back sheet to protect them from external damage.
Lamination
These layered modules are then encapsulated to protect the cells from water infiltration.
Framing
Modules are installed with a junction box for electrical connection and framed to ensure mechanical strength.
Simulation
Each module is tested under simulated conditions to check output performance and classified accordingly before completion.
01. Clamp Guideline Marks
When installing a solar module, the installing crew must measure the correct location of the clamp. The clamp guidelines marked on the Mono X® frame indicates where it can support the maximum mechanical load, and also saves the measuring time. Further, the stability and security of the module is enhanced when clamped in the correct location.
02. Light and Robust Module (entire frame)
LG Mono X® was built as a lightweight model, although it maintains the robust build of its predecessor. Lighter modules raise stability by decreasing the weight applied to the roof, and also improve the productivity of the workers installing them.
03. Great Water Drain Design
When a module has been out in the rain, it accumulates dust. Even the tiniest particles of this dust can reduce the power supply because it screens the sun’s rays. Mono X® was designed with a built-in incline where the frame and the glass meet to drain the rainwater quickly.
04. Softer and Safer Edges
The installment crew tends to get into accidents or rip their gloves on the sharp edges of the modules they carry around. LG Mono X® has solved this problem by altering the shape of the frames with softer edges for the safety of the crew and users.
05. Better Grips
LG Mono X® was designed with more curves for a better grip. This way, it becomes safer for the installment crew to transport the module.
06. Fixed Cables
When installing the module, connect all the cables on the backside and tie them to the module frame. Most conventional modules have cables draped in the middle and take more time to install. But the cables for LG Mono X® are fixed to the frame, allowing for a quick and easy installment as it takes less time to locate the cables.
07. 3-Way Grounding Holes
Grounding, a method involving fixing the frames to the ground, is recommended to prevent electrical accidents. In conventional modules, the grounding holes are located only on the backside of the frame, but in LG Mono X®, there are additional holes on the sides that make for easier installation.
High-Performance Solar Cells
All modules produced by LG are equipped with high-performance solar cells from its own, strictly monitored production facilities. These guarantee a high energy output, meaning that your application should produce higher yields.
Positive Tolerances Only
When producing solar modules, the output that a module will generate cannot be precisely determined in advance. This is only ascertained when functional testing is carried out. During subsequent sorting into performance classes, deviations from the nominal capacity such as 260 Wp arise. At LG, only positive deviations of up to 3 are tolerated. We do not provide minus tolerances, even if they are only slightly below the specified nominal capacity. This is our guarantee.
Financially Strong Company
As a global, financially-sound company, LG is your partner for today — and tomorrow. Due to our broad corporate structure, we stand strong in difficult times and are always on hand to support our customers and partners in a highly competitive market.
10 Year Product Guarantee
All of our solar modules come with a full 10-year product guarantee.
