New Freeview+ DVD recorder with 160 GB HDD oozes style and substance

Berkshire, 04 June 2009 - LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, announced its second series of digital Freeview+ DVD recorders with built-in hard disk drive (HDD). The LG RHT497H can receive over 40 digital Freeview channels and pause, play and rewind live TV at the touch of a button thanks to advanced timeshift functionality – allowing you to step in and out of the action.

With its stylish high-gloss black finish and silver trim, the RHT497H is a product that doesn’t compromise on any features. Its impressive 160GB hard drive capacity provides up to 477 hours of recording time. An eight day programme guide allows you to plan your recording schedule up to a week in advance, and with its series link functionality, you can easily programme it to record entire seasons of your favourite shows with no tapes or disc needed. If you then want to archive your recordings, you can copy one hour of video straight to DVD in a super fast 27 seconds.

Offering 1080p up-scaling via HDMI, the recorder also has Super Multi DVD recording to enable you to record onto all types of DVD discs, DivX movie playback and optical output to get digital audio directly to a home cinema system.

The RHT497H includes Progressive Scan technology, relieving the eyes from fatigue when viewing over an extended time period, by producing a flicker-free and high density image. To improve the quality of the recording and playback even more, DVFX technology is included.

The RHT497H has the additional features of USB and DV input, for camcorders, digital cameras and MP3 player and LG’s SIMPLINK technology means users can operate their LG television and AV system with their LG TV remote control.

The RHT497H is available now from all major retailers and independents.
