Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow ! what a great TV Picture quality is superb on HD and very very good on low. Sound is so good that I've disposed of my soundbar which I had found to be neccessary on my previous TV. The smart aspect of the set is good on WiFi which is wireless. The selection of apps is limited but the www internet is fine. I used Google search and apart from chore of having to target the on screen keyboard from a remote controller, its as good as a laptop. I didn't realise that I could watch 2D pictures upscaled to 3D ( I had the impression that I'd need a 3D transmission or BlueRay

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifes Good! Excellent Telly! I bought this tv after doing a lot of research on the internet & reading the reviews about 3D/smart tv's from numerous manufacturers. The past few tv's I have owned have been Sony, so the look & design of this model was always going to be at the top of the list. I settled on this 42" LG model because it has everything I need in a telly. I just wished I'd bought the 47" equivalent model though as the 42" looks lost in my living room. Picture quality is brilliant, sound quality is surprisingly not bad, considering the small built in speakers. I have a sound bar anyway to improve the sound. The tv was easy to set up (the stand took the most time to sort). Just plug it in & follow the on screen instructions. The magic remote takes a bit of getting used to at first, point & click (a bit like a cordless pc mouse) it even has a built in mic for voice commands. It's also a type of universal remote, I managed to set it up to control my Sony Blue ray player, but I could not set up the remote to control my talk talk 'Huawei' Youview set top box. There is a manufacturer list for the user to select from, but the LG was having none of it, even after numerous attempts!!! Still I would recommend this tv to family & friends. My wife thinks it even looks good turned off. One downside is a lack of Itv & 4 on-demand apps! Also some aspects of the operating system are a bit frustrating. That said this is a very good telly which I got at a fantastic price. 10/10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent introduction to LG I bought this to fit a TV Bed purchased from Bensons, and it (just) fits. The principal reason for purchasing this LG is it was one of the few sets thin enough (at 55mm) to fit the bed (55mm max depth but 55.1 as with this set can be accommodated). I felt like I was taking a bit of a gamble having not owned any LG products before. But I've had a really positive experience here. I think the set software and web os are excellent. The sound, for a tv set, is actually pretty good; note to LG if you could add some extra boost to the EQ or a loudness function that would be great, otherwise it is surprisingly good sounding on its own (though I have hooked it up to a surround system anyway). The magic remote I was skeptical about to start with, but after 10 mins use it is so intuitive I think it is the real future of remote controls. If only LG could make it a learning remote to use with other kit that would be excellent, but top marks here. And to finish... The picture quality is very good. Took a while to get the right balance, and watching with 3D glasses on I find requires settings to be brighter than for non 3D. But upscaling from 2 to 3D works well, native 3D is good, and overall picture quality in SD is good and HD very good. Sufficiently impressed by this experience of LG that I'm going to purchase their LB760V 70 inch for my main set replacement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All round excellent television I found this television was easy to set up, it's also pretty simple to navigate around the different features after a bit of practice and the ones I've used work well. I have mine linked to sky and I find the picture quality excellent and would say this product is very good value. I also purchased an LG sound bar as the speaker in the back of the set is too small and not easy to hear. The set has a quality feel to it and sits on a solid good looking stand, all in all, very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TOOK ME BY SURPRISE! For a long time I was looking for a 42" TV that has all the latest features including 3D that was available at the right price. Some of the TV's on the market are over-priced & since I previously owned Samsung & Sony TV's it was time for a change of brand hence the LG range of television caught my eyes. This TV was reduced in price hence one of the main reasons for the purchase plus its design, features, TV stand & not experiencing a LG brand before. The quality is very good & better than I expected, the 3D works well & is amazing as well as the Smart features which has blown me away. Easy to set up & the wireless features are a god send. Highly recommended, LG is good as any other of the two top makes being Samsung & Sony. Samsung is popular however, if you want something different....go for a LG!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb smart TV with excellent picture quality I bought this TV about a week ago as I wanted a high quality replacement for my aging Sony. I had initially wanted a 4K TV but decided it wasn't worth paying the extra. Furthermore, 4K TV's in this price range tend to be entry level and lack native support. Having viewed this in Curry's I found the screen quality to be fantastic and the TV to be well styled. It was actually a little more expensive than other brands in this price range but well worth it. LG are very well known for making TV and smartphone displays and provide screens for a lot of products on the market. As such it is well with investing in LG as you can guarantee excellent screen quality. I had also been following the story of WebOS for a number of years. I was concerned when Palm went into administration as WebOS had always been an excellent operating system. As such I was very pleased when LG took the decision to buy the OS and incorporate it into their smart TV's. It really is the best smart TV OS on the market and well with your investment. One note on this however - I am really displeased that LG have apparently made the decision to not offer current TV owners the opportunity to upgrade to WebOS version 2.0. This is really a bad decision as it will put potential buyers off investing in a product which is perceived to be unsupported by LG. Overall however this TV is really exceptional. Its just incredible that you can get such a good TV nowadays for such a low price. The picture quality, 3D and design are all fantastic and I thoroughly recommend this TV. Please, please, please, LG don't let us loyal customers down by leaving us out from future software updates!
