What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! My mom bought me this dehumidifier as a gift. It really sucks the moisture out of the air well and the bucket is easy to empty. The display shows you clearly the target humidity and then the humidity in the room. It does hum though so if you're not used to it, it is better to run it while you are out or in another room. But it looks stylish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from up and running for 2 weeks, no issue at all Previously own a Kenmore 50-pint dehumidifier in which the compressor died after 6 years of continuous serving. This LG dehumidifier is much more powerful and efficient. I have tried using both bucket and drain line for dumping water, both have no issue. Before using, make sure to read the instruction about detaching the water bucket. As well be cautious about the minimum distance between the back of the unit and wall behind it. A couple of minor complaint: - the rolling wheels being too small, making the unit very difficult to move on carpet. - having music to get your attention is a good idea only if the volume is not too loud, or being able to adjust. I had the dehumidifier on one night in my bedroom (after cleaning carpet the same day). I empty the water bucket right before I went to bed. However, the unit was so efficient extracting moisture in the room and the bucket was full again 4 am in the morning. When it happened, it played a very loud melody and I was waken up by that, like after a horror dream.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One Year and 3 months !!!!!!! I bought this on &/24/2017. It looked like a great unit and my basement was in need of a dehumidifier. Today, 10/11/2018 the unit is icing. There is a feature on this unit called auto defrost that I have never seen work. Now it is leaking and the unit will not shut off when the bucket is full. LG said I have only a 1 year warranty which has expired. This is horrible. When I was growing up my father had old appliances that never broke. LG is a horrible company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and simple to use We've owned several dehumidifiers and this one is far superior to any of the others. The bucket lifts out easily and is easy to carry without spilling; and we are SO pleased that it operates quietly! This is our first LG appliance and I'm sure we'll have others. soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG SUPER DEHUMIDIFIER I bought this to replace an aging but still perfectly working LG dehumidifier. This model is super quiet & dries my bathroom in a very short time. I've been switching to LG appliances because of the design & quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Easy to install First of all setup was easy - controls are easy and clear. You have to be careful hooking up the hose if you want to dump the water externally It is little tight to connect the hose but very easy. I have a steady stream of water coming from the unit now - installed in a basement. I hope this unit lasts longer than my prior Whirlpool model.

I just purchased a UD701KOG3.    If I run it on the timer mode for 12 hrs. Will it shut off for 12 hrs. And then start up again.

Asked by: MV212
Hello, the unit will run for the 12 hours and shut off, once the unit shuts off, it will have to be turned on again. ^AC

Manual states that after 23 hours of continuous operation the unit will shut down for 1 hour and then restart automatically. Since timer only allows you to set it for 12 hours and then restart manually, how do I set the unit for 23 continuous hours?

Asked by: jrjnjca
To use the air conditioner for 23 continuous hours you would just not set a timer. The unit would run until the 23 hours are met and then would turn off for a hour and then restart. ^CP

When set up for continuous mode (per the user manual) water isn't flowing into the hose or the bucket, it's spilling onto the floor from inside the unit. What might I be doing wrong?

Asked by: NAF1
Hello, if the unit is connected correctly to a 3/4"" (outer diameter) threaded garden hose as per step 4 in the owners manual on page 8, then the unit will not allow water to go into the collection tank. If it was over tightened it could have cracked or caused damaged and you may need service. ^AC https://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-UD701KOG3

How do I get the unit to function on continuous drain? I have a hose installed and the water still fills the bucket.

When setting up for continuous draining, does it need to be downhill to properly drain? Trying to drain in a sink but it backs up on the floor.

Asked by: Fonzndav2000
Depending on your setup, it may be needed to adjust the leveling of your air purifier to drain. ^CP

Once this unit reaches desired humidity level should it shut itself off and restart automatically ?

Asked by: tim61
It takes about 30 minutes of continuous operation for the LG PuriCare™ 70 Pint Dehumidifier, Model # UD701KOG3 to reach the desired humidity the first time the product is used. After 23 hours of continuous operation, the red Safety Standby light turns on for one hour and the fan and compressor shut off to prevent product malfunction. After an hour with the fan and compressor shut off, the Safety Standby light turns off and the fan and compressor automatically restart. If the TIMER function is used, if the water bucket becomes full during the Timer function, the Bucket Full Light goes on and dehumidification stops...^IFV

I am unsure how to use the timer. If I set it for 12 hours, does it go for 12 hours, go off for 12 hours and then start again? Or do I just put it on when I'm home for an hour or more until the desired humidify level it achieved.

Asked by: beach house
Hello, you will press the Timer button to set the automatic shut off time. So if you press it for 5 hours, it will shut off in 5 hours. ^AC

Does the LG 70 PuriCare model come with a drain hose ?

Asked by: 105ellis
The LG PuriCare™ 70-Pint Clear Bucket with Handle Dehumidifier, Model # UD701KOG3 does not come with a drain hose. It has a water bucket that the dehumidified water is stored in. If you need a drain hose, you can turn the hose cover in the back of the unit counterclockwise to open it, remove the water bucket and attach a garden hose in the drain hole at the rear of the case and reinstall the water bucket. (the dehumidifier does not work without the water bucket installed)...^IFV
