What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it ! This unit works extremely well for my small bedroom. It took me ten minutes to hook it up using the installation window kit. I use it most nights and it cools the room down in 10-20 minutes. It’s not too loud to the point where it bothers me and I can’t sleep so that’s nice. The air conditioner is also on wheels and comes with a remote. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great A/C Purchased this for my living/diningroom and it works great. A little bit of noise but I can live with that to be cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! I bought this about three weeks ago for my son’s bedroom. I live in a two bedroom small apartment with only one window a/c in the living room and the cold air never reaches his room. His room gets unbearably hot in the summer. Im very happy with this portable a/c because it really cools his room down to the temperature settings and it’s very quiet, which is great because my apartment complex has very thin walls. I love it, so happy I bought this.

How long is the exhaust hose. The pictures I've seen show the unit either directly under or very near the window. I would need to position the unit to the left of the window, but not in front of the window.

Hello, I am interested in getting one of these. However I have a very large window in my bedroom. I see the specs say it will fit up to 50 inches. However my window is 57 inches. Is there an adapter attachment to fit my window?

Asked by: JasonVorhees13
Regrettably, there aren't any adapters available that will accommodate a window opening wider than 50" or taller than 50" for the LG 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP0818WNR. The window vent panel itself is 18" wide, but there are three types of extension panels that can be used in various combinations to fit window widths from 18" to 50". Panel B is a 9" extension panel, Panel C is a 17" extension panel, and Panel D is also a 17" panel. Panels C and D are wider than Panel D so you can slide Panel D into either Panel C or Panel B. All these panels can be used with Panel A (i.e. the 18" Window Vent Panel). The combination of panels that will give you the widest width or tallest height of 50" are Panels A, C, and D. To extend beyond 50", you could use another Panel D but you would need to purchase the whole Window Installation Kit, Part # COV31735301 since the panels are not sold separately. The kit can be ordered from our LG Authorized Parts Distributor; Encompass Parts Distribution 775 Tipton Industrial Dr. Suite F Lawrenceville, GA 30046 Sales: 866-779-7906 Fax: 800-552-1431 https://lg.encompass.com. You may want to ask if they are able to seel you just the panel that you would need, but more than likely, it is only sold as part of the whole window installation kit. Other than that, you could ask a Home Improvement store like the Home Depot or LOWE's to cut you a piece of perspex cut to the dimensions of your bedroom window that has a hole that will accommodate the window vent panel or that you can attach the diffuser that is on the exhaust vent hose so you can vent the unit to the outside...^IFV

Do you sell a sliding door venting kit? Not just the window kit ? My windows are crank. Do I want to vent through a side of the French balcony doors.

What are the measurements of the air discharge on the LP0818WNR model AC unit? I'm referring specifically to the end of the hose that goes out the window. Is it 8 inches by 3 inches? I had the larger model and already cut the hole for it.

Asked by: Steve1234
Hello, if you are referring to the oval discharge, it is an 8" x 3" opening. If you are referring to the piece that attaches to the oval discharge opening and goes into the window, it is appx 18.5" x 6". ^AC

What is the average cost running this unit for an hour on low fan and set to 76 degrees? Or an average monthly cost?

Asked by: Nader A
Hi Nader A. The average cost of running this LG 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP0818WNR for an hour on a low fan mode setting will depend on your utility rates. The air conditioner has a power consumption of 1,100 W per hour (1.1 kWh). Check your utility bills to see what your utility rates are per kWh to determine what your cost will be. The fan does not use any power worth factoring into the cost regardless of its setting. The compressor may run more than an hour or less than an hour to reach a set temperature of 76˚ depending on how high the external temperature is or on what temperature it is having to cool the room down from is...^IFV

What’s the difference between model lp1017gsr and lp0818wnr beside the btu

Asked by: Jomer
Hi Jomer. Regrettably, we are unable to confirm that Model # LP1017GSR is a model that was released in the U.S. and do not have a file for it in our data banks that we can use to compare it to the LG 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP0818WNR. It may be similar to the LG 10,200 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1017WSR which has a different design to the LP0818WNR and has a higher dehumidification capacity than the LP0818WNR and was released before the LP0818WNR...^IFV
