On the front of the ac it shows to open and close the vent you push a button where is it

Asked by: Phorse33
The vent control that allows you to open the vent to discharge stale air or to close it to allow internal air circulation on the LG 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW1213ER is controlled by a lever, not a button, which is located in the bottom right corner of the adjustable louver on the air conditioner to the left of the bottom left corner of the control panel...^IFV

I just purchased this air conditioner to go in my sleeve in the wall. The guy in the store told me to take the top part off and it will be fine is that true? Is this air conditioner made for both the window n sleeve in the wall?

Asked by: ProudMom
I apologize, but no; this is an air conditioner designed to be installed in a window. A wall sleeve will cover the ventilation. Blocking these vents will harm the compressor system. For this much cooling capacity, it might be recommended to review this model: http://www.lg.com/us/air-conditioners/lg-LT1216CER.

My unit freezes over alot and even when not froze up the air isnt cool at all

We have had this unit for only 3 years. I live in Wa State so the unit does not get used very often. The first summer we used it it was great. The past 2 years the air coming out is not cool and the unit tends to freeze over. PLEASE help!

The coolant has leaked out and it needs to be recharged. Make sure the leak is found and fixed first.

New A/C cools fine, but humidity levels are still high. Is this normal?

Have a temp/humidity weather station in my home. Previous A/C kept humidity in home at about 35-40% when temp at about 78F. New LG model doesn't get humidity percentage below 50%....sometimes even higher. Is this normal?
Asked by: LW1213R
I'm having the same problem and purchased this unit because it had the dehumitifier function. Went on line and found out if unit is too big for room it won't have the compressor on long enough for heat exchanger to get rid of moisture. I did oversize hoping to make sure room was properly cooled which obviosly was a mistake. I do think that LG could come up with a better dehumitifier in thier air conditioners since they build a dehumitifier that stands alone.

Will LG LW1213ER fit in my 26" wide window? The fact sheet lists it as 23.6" wide but specs call for minimum 27".

Asked by: flustered
The window width should be 27" to 39" and the opening height at least 16". The extra width is for the side curtains/installation kit.

Tell me about "slide in chassis"

Since this thing weighs 80 pounds, I want to understand how I install it in the window ... without dropping it three floors onto the sidewalk below! Do I install the outer case securely in the window, and then slide in the chassis? Describe how this works. Of course, the easiest way to answer this question would be to have the installation manual for this model on line. I haven't seen it. Is it on line? Where? If not, PUT IT ON LINE.
Asked by: dgol
That is correct; the installation instructions provided with the air conditioner show the removal of the air conditioner chassis from the outer casing. Once removed, follow the instructions to install the outer case before installing the chassis. Pages 12-15 of the owner’s manual describe the installation process.
