What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fan doesn't shut up in energy saver or power off I bought this unit in 2015. Within the same year, the unit had to be repaired. The fan or motor doesn't stop in energy saver or with power off. I have to unplug the unit several times a day. They covered the repair during guarantee, but it has been doing it again: it doesn't turn off, energy saver doesn't work. LG refused to fix it complimentary a second time knowing that this unit came defective. I called LG. The technician didn't show up within the 4 hour window.. Very rude technician when he called me. I see many people with the same problem in forums . Do not buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The energy saver works well. Bought this to cool a 5 room apartment on one level and it does a great job. It was 90 degrees out and it kept the apartment at 68 degrees all day. I recommend this to anyone looking for a act unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the price This is the second one of this model for us to own. The last one was damaged in a thunderstorm. We liked it so much that we just had to have another. Particularly like the energy saving mode. Very efficient and low cost to operate.

where can I get a 58" high stand strong enough to hold this unit so it can go in the window?

Asked by: Geli Harris
Regrettably, we do not have information for where you can get a 58" high stand strong enough to hold the LG 15,000 BTU 115 V Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1515ER in a window. This unit is designed for installation in standard single-hung or double-hung windows with actual opening widths from 29" to 41". The top and bottom windows sashes must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 18" from the bottom of the upper sash to the window stool. All supporting parts should be secured to firm wood, masonry, or metal...^IFV

Is it safe to run the unit without a front cover

Asked by: MosesPM
The front cover and the filter that fits behind the front cover on the LG Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1515ER are designed to prevent airborne dirt and dust from getting into the unit so that the cooled air that is blown back into your room is clean...^IFV

My unit is humming even when not running. The only way to make it stop is to unplug it. I cleaned the coils. I read that it might be the assembly/relay board. I'm having trouble finding the part number for that.

Asked by: Jana C
I'm having the exact same issue with my LW1515ER, it's like the compressor is stuck on even though the power button is off. Maybe it's a bad relay. Has this issue been looked into? Is LW1515ER still available or has it been replaced?

Asked by: CURTIS G
The LG Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1516ER requires a standard single hung or double hung window for proper installation. The outside of the cabinet must extend outward for at least 12" and there should be no obstacles, such as a fence or wall within 20" from the back of the cabinet because it will prevent the condenser from radiating heat out. All side louvers of the cabinet must remain exposed to the outside of the structure. Non-window installations, including using sleeves, holes in walls, and other installations are not recommended...^IFV

Can this unit be mounted on a wall instead of the window?

Asked by: Tamayo
The LG Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1515ER is designed for installation in standard single or double-hung windows and cannot be used with a wall sleeve, installed in holes in the wall or any other type of installation. The louvers in its case cannot be obstructed and covering them up would not only result in a reduced cooling capacity, but could also cause the unit to burn itself out...^IFV
