Rated 5 out of 5 by from Biggest 110v A/C Unit Home Depot had I shopped this A/C in Home Depot. Decided I didn't want to install a 220v line. My wife's requirement is that it makes our living room like ice. Well, it did its job. Says it has 2 compressors. Didn't exactly know how this worked until I had to run it on a generator during Hurricane Barry. Had to run it on "Energy" and it cooled fine. Its a rather large window unit so I would recommend getting a Window A/C support add on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best air conditioner I ever owned I have this air conditioner for a few days now. I purchased it at the right time as it is extremely hot outside. This air conditioner can cool my whole apartment. It does such a great job that I find myself having to adjust the temperature to a higher setting. Most of the time I have it no lower than 70, and my apartment is real cool.

I have a problem with my compressor starting up and the fan wont kick on, causing the compressor to shut off after around 20sec. I can turn just the fan on but not both ac and fan, this is common for any mode other than fan, all coils are clean, 2yo unit.

I just installed my LG air conditioner. Everything works fine but it isn't cooling my house down much.I have the fan speed set at 3 and the ventilation toggle is pushed in(off). Is this normal when it is first being used?

I would like to buy a replacement unit for my existing window bracket, which would fit my old a/c which had a 15-15/16 x 25-15/16 main cabinet. Does the height dimension of this unit include the top capture bracket;will the main cabinet fit in ‘the cage’?

The W x H x D dimensions of 26" x 17 11/16" x 28 1/8" for the LG 15000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1516ER are just for the slide in-out chassis that the air conditioner fits into and do not include the height for when the left and right frame guides are attached...^IFV

Which way should air vent be for least.humidity

Asked by: Bel789
The ventilation lever must be in the CLOSED position in order to maintain the cooling conditions. When fresh air is necessary in the room, set the ventilation lever to the OPEN position. The damper is opened and room air is drawn out. Airflow can be adjusted by changing the direction of the air conditioner's louvers. We hope this information helps. I want to purchase a 1200 btu window A/C unit but my window opening is 44 1/2 wide. Will the side skirts open wide enough to keep outside air out?

Asked by: Tony Gabriel
Hi Tony. Do you have a model number for the AC unit that you are interested in purchasing? In your inquiry, you say that you are interested in a 1,200 BTU unit. Regrettably, the lowest BTU rating we have for our Window Air Conditioners is 6,000 BTU (unless you meant a 12,000 BTU unit?). Currently, we have the LG 12,000 BTU Smart wi-fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1217ERSM, the LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1216ER and the LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW1216HR. Regrettably, the maximum window opening width for all these models is 39" so the curtains on the guide panels will not cover an opening of 44 1/2". You would need to have something customized to close the opening after installation of these units...^IFV

Will the LW1516ER fit in the same cabinet as an older LWHD1500ER? The width is identical and the height and depth are very close.

Asked by: J L B
Hello, the LW1516ER is a window A/C unit and therefore should not have it's chassis swapped out with any other like a wall unit. ^AC
