Rated 5 out of 5 by from It has better options than my previous unit I enjoy the feature that when the power goes off that unit would come back on with the power. My old air conditioner would stay off and when you come home after the power is had been off the house would be hot. I have 2 LG air conditioners. Because of this feature is why I bought LG again.

Red light indicating need to clean filter still on after filter was removed and was washed??

Asked by: doc walker
The ‘Clean Filter’ LED will light up to notify you that your filter needs to be cleaned. Once the filter is clean, press “Temp ^ / v ” together to turn off ‘Clean Filter’ light. (The filter reset must be done from unit control panel; not from the remote control).

I have an lg model # lw1814er  the temp keeps flashing and ices over why ?

Asked by: lynzy
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this Air Conditioner. The distortions of the display can be related to the freezing of the coils. It is recommended to ensure that the filters are clear to prevent icing of the coils. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at

Installation of LW1814ER in limited outside space

There is only one window in my San Francisco apartment that could take a window unit. Unfortunately, I have only 20" from the window sill to the wall of the adjacent building. Is it possible to modify the mounting hardware of this unit so as to put the unit halfway into the room, instead of mostly outside, so that it would have room to exhaust? Please advise, & thanks!
Asked by: Stewart
I do not think so. A wall unit might be what you would need. Those have the sides and tops enclosed whereas a regular and cheaper window unit is eposed on top and sides.

Installation help on sill bracket mounting offset.

The directions say "Open the window. Mark a line on the center of the window stool ." But, there is then no mention of where to mount the sill bracket. What is the correct offset measurement for these bracket?
Asked by: mrdvt92
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner and its proper installation. Once the center point is located for the window sill, consider that the cabinet width is supposed to be 26” wide. This leaves 13” on either side to be the outer edge of the bracket.
