Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product but could be better... This ac works great, although when we first turned the unit on it sounded like a fan blade was hitting something, then it made some loud awful noise like someone hit metal with a hammer, then the noises disappeared. ...now it runs smoothly. We never could figure out where that noise came from other than it was somewhere inside the unit where the fan blades are. I love that you can set the timer for the unit to come on and go off automatically, up to 24 hours, however it would be so much better to be able to program it to come on and go off every day at the designated times. Instead you have to manually set the timer each day. For example, in order for you to set the timer for the unit to turn on, the unit has to be off. Likewise, in order to set the timer for the unit to turn off at a certain time, the unit has to be running and you can only set it for up to 24 hours later. I want the unit to come on and shut off automatically every day without having to manually set the timer each day. But otherwise, the timer is a great feature. Overall, it cools GREAT!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cools well but load The air conditioner does an excellent job of cooling however it is loud and the continuously running fan or intermitent 3 minute delay fan on the energy saver and dry modes is very irritating. I'm not sure you can get a much quiter one of this size. However something could be done about the fan coming on every 3 minutes to check the temperature. I realize that this results in a very constant temperature but I would be happy to sacrifice that for a longer interval between fan start ups.

Does this model replace Model LWHD2500ERY7 .If not is that model still available? Going through a block wall and need the same size

Asked by: Twpsuper
The LG LWHD2500ER 25,000 Cooling Capacity (BTU) Window Air Conditioner was discontinued a while back and is no longer available. However, the LG 24,000/24,500 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW2512ER has the exact same W x H x D dimensions and minimum, maximum width and minimum height requirements as the LWHD2500ER so it will fit the same way in your window...^IFV

Energy Saver Mode problem

Tough problem to explain but when unit is put in Energy Saver Mode once house is cooled to desired temperature the unit shuts off but you still hear either the fan or compressor running. It is not extremely loud but you can hear it all over the house. AC cools fine but just doesn't shut off completely. Drained all the water out of the unit but problem is still going on. Please help!
Asked by: Gabe2310
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this air conditioner. The unit is designed to run the compressor and fan until it reaches the proper temperature, and then shut off the compressor, leaving the fan running. When the Energy Saver Mode is active, the unit should deactivate the fan, as well as the compressor. The fan will spin up to test the air temperature every few minutes. If the temperature is still at the specified level, the fan will shut off again; however, if the temperature has increased, then it will activate the compressor to begin cooling again. If this is not the process being experienced, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

The plug type for the LW2512ER unit is not specified. What plug does it use?

Asked by: JDavis
This unit requires a 230 volt outlet. This outlet is different that regular 110 volt that appliances like your TV or toaster may use.

Has anyone else that has the LG LWHD 2500 ERY7  had problems with the van design.  Every year I have to either replace the front or the rear fan and sometimes both.  It has made me not like LG and I am about to replace my A/C  with something reliable.
