Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be a five star...but... I LOVE this phone! It is simple to understand and was not loaded with bloatware. PROBLEM: I cannot use the phone without engaging the speaker phone option. My callers all say my transmission is "broken up". I tried trading for another phone and changing phone cases, but the problem persists.

i have 5amp switch , the electricity in my country is 220volt not 110 , i know that i can convert the 220 to 110volt using something , but can you convert it from your side , did the converting affect the amp and the watts i need details about that pls

Asked by: raji mostafa
Even if you could use a step down transformer to step the 220V in your outlet down to 110V to use this LG 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW5012, the one thing that you will not be able to change is the frequency. This unit has to be plugged into a standard 2-Pole, 3-wire grounding outlet rated at 125 VAC, and it should use a 15 amp time delay fuse or a 15 amp circuit breaker. As a general rule, it is unsafe to operate a 115V, 60Hz rated appliances at 115V, 50Hz. Operating a 60Hz appliances at 50Hz may result in excessive heat buildup in transformers or in certain types of electric motors. As you alluded to in your inquiry, it is possible to purchase 60Hz sine wave power systems that takes 240V 50Hz on input and produces 115V 60Hz on output, but these units are generally very expensive, and it is usually more cost effective just to replace the appliance...^IFV

Does the air filter need to be replaced?

If so, where can I purchase one?
Asked by: MaryF
Hi MaryF. The Air Filter for the LG 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW5012 is a washable filter and your owner's manual recommends that you check it at least twice a month to see if it needs cleaning. The filter can be washed in lukewarm water below 40°C (104°F) You will find instructions on how to remove the front grille to get to the filter in the "Maintenance and Service" section of your owner's manual on page 18. If you need a copy of the manual, one can be downloaded from the support section on the LG site[http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-LW5012]...^IFV

How do I clean the coils on the Lg LW5012?

It gets me sick everytime I turn it on, how can I remove mildew?
Asked by: cleanair
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Check the filters to be certain nothing is clogging the air flow, and that nothing is developing on the screen. The filter can be washed and cleaned off, and should be thoroughly dried before returning it to operation. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require professional cleaning. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

Where is the drain hole?

Water is coming into the house. The unit is installed properly , I thought the drain hole might be clogged, the manual shows there is one, however when I went to the back of the unit...the casing has a place for a hole but there is no hole, just metal mesh behind where the casing has a hole.....almost like they use the same casing on different models, and this one doesn't have a hole.....can someone please tell me how to fix this problem....this is fairly new, hardly used, and very frustrating. I googled and read everything I could find....there is no drain that I can find. Help is greatly appreciated.
Asked by: isaiahsongs
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. The water flows according to gravity. As such, if water is running into the house, then it would seem that there is not enough of a downward angle to the installation. Even if there is no drain hole, the water should drain outward, and if too high, will flow over the back of the casing before running inside.

What is the temp range of the thermostat?

The air conditioner cools well but it seems like the compressor shuts off before the room cools sufficiently at the coolest setting. Compressor would run for 32 seconds then fan only for 45 seconds, that was the cycle this morning and the room temp wasn't but 71 degrees. Just installed last night.
Asked by: Country
Typically, a window air conditioner should be about to achieve around 65-68 degrees. This unit does not have a specified maximum cooling level. To assist in this matter, we would need to know about the area in which it was installed: what is around the unit; how are the clearings set; how large is the room? Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 that we might troubleshoot this matter with you.

Mine does not even though it is ever so slightly tilted; if it does, then the water is evaporated by the sun or heat. I have never seen any water collecting under the unit.

Asked by: bruceBruceBruce
It needs to be in the upright position with the back tilted down so the sling ring on the fan can throw water on the condensing coil. This operation is what helps it cool.

Is there an installation guide on your website for the LW5012 air conditioner? I couldn't find one. I would like to see one prior to purchasing.

I'm glassing in a small screened porch area and need to see the installation information which is not listed on the downloadable technical specifications sheet. Which I did download earlier.
