Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Air Conditioner I bought this air conditioner about 8 years ago. I’ve used it year round, yes I live in Boston but my hot flashes are so bad so it was on more than the heat in the winters, and other than the guide panels drying out and ripping apart this unit still works like it’s brand new. I’m giving it to my daughter for my grandson’s room and buying another Lg Air Conditioner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase! Bought this to put in my bedroom to supplement central ac that hasn’t been working well in the heat of summer. wish I would have done it sooner! It can rattle, so have to make sure it is positioned properly so it doesn’t.

My unit rattles very loudly when the compressor turns on. It seems that the face of the unit just vibrates against itself. It constantly wakes me up through the night. How do I fix this problem?

Asked by: Josh Gibson
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this Air Conditioner. There are no portions of this device that should be rattling. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to troubleshoot this matter.

What does the dry and energy saver do?

Asked by: Xavier818
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The DRY mode is designed to run the compressor to extract moisture from the air, but not to circulate the fan as much, so as to not actively cool the air. Some cooling will be the natural result of lower humidity, but the air conditioner will not be pursuing that goal. The ENERGY SAVER mode is designed to deactivate the circulating fan when the compressor stops running. Instead of running constantly, the fan will spin every 3 minutes to test the air temperature. If cooling is not required, the fan will stop and wait for another 3 minutes. If cooling is needed, then the compressor will kick in again and start the cooling process. The reduced use of the fan will be more energy efficient than constant operations.

My LG unit has worked fine for a couple years and than all of the sudden it is not draining even after flushing it. The water builds up you hear it gurgle and than it starts making a loud noise. When we remove the front you can see  the water

Asked by: amy Gunnoe
The LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW6012ER when installed properly should have a tilt toward the back of 1/4" - 1/2". If the back of the unit isn't slightly lower than the front, the unit can leak condensed water from the front grille. The air conditioner is designed to operate with about 1/2" of water in the base pan. This water is picked up by the slinger fan which has an outer ring that runs in the water that collects in the base pan if it gets deep, and expels it through the condenser to help discharge the heat. That helps to improve the cooling efficiency. Check to make sure that the drain cap is not on and preventing any excess water from draining out. If the drain cap is off, check to make sure that the drain outlet is not clogged with dirt and debris that might have gotten into the unit and accumulated in there...^IFV
