Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Window A.C. This is my second one of this window air conditioner. We had the first one for over 6 years. When it no longer functioned we reviewed other units but none offered the quiet cooling that this LG unit does. It provides quiet cooling. It cools so well that we can use the energy saver feature most of the time and our fan speed is rarely above medium fan, a lot of the time it is on the lowest fan. I like my living room cool and this does the job. The price is comparable with other units of similar size, but those units do not provide the same quiet rating as this LG unit. I do not like loud air conditioners and this is not loud. It also has low vibration. You do not realize it is on. Looking for excellent cooling this would be a good choice.

Why does the unit fill almost immediately with water, inside and out?

I bought three units -- two work fine, never fill with water, and any condensation drains out the hole on the outside. One, however, has had a problem since new, filling up with water both inside and out, whenever it is set to cool or energy save, no matter what the settings. The fan then spits water out into the room. I have verified no blockages in drain hole, and unit is installed properly, tilted slightly toward the outside. I also removed the cover to look for debris/blockage, or defective/[plugged drain holes -- none visible. It behaves as if it is always set to dehumidify, but also, the water is collecting inside, and will not drain, almost like there is a problem with incorrect pressure/pressure drop in the refrigerant.
Asked by: Waterlogged
Check your level. If a window AC unit is level it will fill with water. A window AC unit should have a 10% down angle to allow for drainage.
