Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basically a good product with a few flaws Like many of the reviews I've read, this product has excellent sound quality for music. Somewhat below average microphone for telephone use. My main reason for leaving this review is that I do feel there is a design problem! I'm on my third pair and most likely final pair of these units without exception both units prior have failed on the right channel. It'll be playing right along and the channel starts to get crackling noises followed by no function at all. I believe this is because the retractable feature puts under stress on the connection. I purposely only use them for enjoying music when I'm working out or walking. I think if this physical connection issue was resolved these would be excellent quality products for the value

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful I bought this about three years ago, and I have no problems! I've washed them two times also put them in the dryer after washing and they live! Battery still holds the charge ! I would buy again, if I could.

Now that this, the HBS A80, as well as the HBS 850 are both discontinued, what headset model will replace it as the go to choice for people who work and ride in rainy conditions and want a high ipx rating as well as prefer the retractable feature?

There isn't a comparable option for these discontinued model. We do not have IPX ratings on our current neckband models. ^Daphane

Is there a reset button for these and what would cause it to not hold a charge

Turning the LG TONE Active® Bluetooth® Wireless Headset, Model # HBS-A80 Black resets the headset. It does not have a reset button. Just like your laptop battery of phone battery does when it is defective or when it dies, the battery for the headset will not hold a charge either and will need to replaced. The battery has an operating temperature of -10 °C (+14 °F) ~ +50 °C (+122 °F). It will have a long service life if treated properly. A new battery or one that has not been used for a long period of time could have reduced capacity the first few times it is used. Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures, never above +50°C (+122°F) or below -10°C (+14°F). For maximum battery capacity, use the battery at room temperature. If the battery is used in low temperatures, the battery capacity will be reduced. The battery can only be charged in temperatures between +10°C (+50°F) and +45°C (+113°F)...^IFV

What headphones in your current models are the same size as these.  My wife is 4’11.  And these fit nicely but new models are huge.

Are firmware updates provided for the HBSA80? I had the HBS810, one earbud failed so I got the A80. It is a definite downgrade. Hoping there is new firmware to improve it so I can continue to like LG.

You can briefly press the Play/Pause/Stop button twice on the LG TONE Active® Bluetooth® Wireless Headset, Model # HBS-A80to activate the equalizer and switch between the Bass Boost (Default), Normal, and Treble Boost settings...^IFV
