What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun while it lasted Bought this phone in Dec 2012. I loved it because of the slider keyboard for texting. Phone was turned off for awhile and recently had it turned back on. Started having problems saying it was not compatible with any of the newer apps, could not use google and the battery had to be charged 4-5 times a day. Bought a replacement battery but still same issue. Battery life seems more resilient when phone is only used as a tablet. Loved the phone for the time I was able to use it but had to retire it and get a different phone. Like I said, it was fun while it lasted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great For Starter Smart Phone I was looking for my first smart phone with a keyboard and purchased this phone at Wal-mart with their Straight Talk plan for a very reasonable price. I have had it for two years and it has proven very durable, it has been dropped twice on hard tile floors and once off the roof of my suv to the concrete driveway with no bad effects. The pull out keyboard works great for me, I have large fingers and have trouble typing on touchscreens. I added a 32g memory card to store my music and photo files on but I find the limited ram and internal storage limits the applications I can use. Other than that I have been very happy with the operation ease and sound quality and screen brightness and clarity. I would definitely recommend this produce to new smartphone users or those needing light to medium apps and storage. Battery life is fine for daily phone and light app use but for things like streaming blue tooth music through your car stereo on trips you will definitely need a power cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for the Price Segment I wanted an inexpensive, slider, Android phone, as I like built-in keyboards better for typing than the onscreen keypads. The LG L55C was chosen for it's low purchase price and very usable sliding keyboard. In over three years of use, it has exceeded my expectations. There were phones that had better memory, newer operating systems, and longer battery life, but nothing I've owned has been as day-to-day usable and reliable as this phone. It has held up extremely well, too, and looks much newer than it is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk When I got this phone it started great, but was soon disappointed. It uses the battery to quickly, It does not have any storage or memory. This phone is a waste of money. If the other products made by this company are anything like this phone, then it is complete JUNK.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Reaching EOL but very good entry level Phone I have had this Phone for about 3 years, when I first got this phone it did everything I wanted. Now newer apps tend to run slow or will not run at all (Due to out of memory errors) I had to uninstall many apps I liked on the phone just to keep the ones I need working due to low memory (This phone only has 512). I added a 32GB high speed memory but that did not help, problem is "Phone shares memory" You really only get 360MB RAM and 214MB internal storage (SD card is added to this) I know it equals 574 but I think that there is some SIM memory added in. Your Apps need some "internal memory" even if save on SD card. so that is why I ran out of space the 214MB internal is the big issue. But if you want an entry level Android phone that is durable and will last a long time for VERY LOW COST. This phone will work

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of Great features. I have bought 2 of these phones so far.I do agree with the other person,That after a year the phone does it's own thing, like going blank, shutting down, etc.take the back off, pull the battery, replace it and it's ok again. But on the positive side, phone isn't very costly and it has everything, from talk text to ask the lady directions..I LIKE this phone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible Phone to have I had this phone for almost a year when it started acting up on me. If would start by turning itself off and then back on. Sometimes it wouldn't even turn itself back on at all. And if that was the case, you had to take the battery out and put it back in for it to somewhat work. After you put the battery back it, it would come on immediately, only all of the programs wouldn't be loaded properly, or my 3G would go away. To fix this, I then had to manually turn my phone off then back on. This process took a while, and it wouldn't have bothered me as much if it wasn't doing it 5-10 times a day. Eventually, chargers stopped working with it. Only one could actually charge my phone. So I will never, and i mean NEVER buy an LG phone again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Am having fun with this slider I spent alot of money on other phones, but none seemed right...this one seems right. I can use the keyboard, instead of the one on screen, which makes writing SO much easier. I haven't had any problems with lock-ups, yet, and the calls are clear.
