What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT! I've been on the LG band wagon since the g6 so I thought it was only right to keep going. I've had the g6, g7, g8, and the Velvet. Out of all of them the G8 was the Best one. The palm unlock, gestures in itself was the greatest feature ever. I wish LG never would've gotten out of the phone business I was really looking forward to the next release.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid dependable phone I have owned this phone for a few years, and had very few issues with it. Good battery life, excellent display and good camera. It has held up well, and I see no reason to upgrade to a newer phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This phone's lg total underdog flagship phone 5g I bought this phone about a 1 year ago ,I am just putting it to use man wow I sure love this lg g8 thinq with a 6 gb ram and a 855 snap dragon what a total upgrade from the lg g6 and the lg g6+ with a 4 GB ram and a 421 snap Dragon with a 4g lte. The is operating system was a 7.0 upgrade to a 9.0.I had that phone the lg g6+ that was a very good underrated phone. The HI-DAC Dolby digital speakers that are bass and crisp clear just perfect the snap dragon 855 on both phones and this lg g8 thinq this phone's very nice and fast very powerful for what it is it comes with a is 9.0 and I just upgraded to a os android 12 with a 4g/5g LTE capabilities what I am using now a 5g and for what it is for in it's class and comparing it to the galaxy's 7 and 9 phone's and others phone's processor and process is up with other high performance phone's this is a steal for for anyone with a budget plan in there mind set. I do I have only one problem with android is the Google and Google maps that needs to be re advised and looked into. This can be a total spyware only down side for androids with GOOGLE.

Are there any international carriers (Europe, etc.) the LG G8 thinQ will work with?

Asked by: mmctec
Carriers in the U.S. lock their phones to their network whereas international carriers do not lock their phones, and unlike here in the U.S. where some carriers like Verizon are CDMA networks (which is going away), other carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T are GSM networks. International carriers are GSM networks so any GSM phone that has frequencies that are supported by the international carrier of your choice will work if the phone is unlocked or an unlocked variant. The LG G8 ThinQ™ | T-Mobile, Model # LMG820TMB is a T-Mobile variant as indicated in the title, meaning that it is locked to the T-Mobile network. T-Mobile would have to unlock the phone for you to use it with any other carrier regardless of whether the carrier is an international carrier or a domestic carrier as long as the carrier supports the frequencies that are supported on the phone. Our specifications for the phone on its product detail page on our site list Frequencies as: GSM 850/900/1800/1900; UMTS: B1, B2, B4, B5, B8; LTE Bands B2/B4/B5/ B12/B46/B48/B66/B71; LTE Roaming: B1/B3/B7/B8/B13/B20/B25/B26/B28/B38/B39/ B40/B41. You can check to see which frequencies an international carrier supports to see if this phone will work on its network. The LG G8 ThinQ™, Model # LMG820QM8 and Model # LMG820QM7 are unlocked variants (i.e. not assigned to any carrier) that will also work abroad. Frequencies that are supported on the unlocked variants are: CDMA BC0, BC1, BC10; GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz; WCDMA Bands 1/2/4/5/8; LTE 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/14/17/20/25/26/28/29/30/38/39/40/41/46/48/66/71...^Ivan

Can I use my lg 8 thinq dual screen with my xfinity SIM card? The guy from xfinity told me that the phone was not compatible but I can try it and if I do so it might broke my phone

Asked by: Khady
Xfinity Mobile is a subsidiary of Comcast Telecommunications. They do not have towers or cellular networks of their own. Xfinity uses a virtual network based on Mobile hotspots and towers from Verizon to provide you with the best signal strength. The LG G8X ThinQ™ Dual Screen, Model # LMG850QM that is compatible with Verizon's variant of the LG G8 ThinQ™, Model # LMG820UMB so since Xfinity is using the Verizon towers, the SIM card they provide you with should work...^Ivan

Why am I getting messages from T Mobile telling me I have to replace my LG G8 ThinQ because I bought it under Sprint when T mobiles also markets the ThinQ?

Asked by: DCopper
You will need to contact T-Mobile for details on the messages that you are receiving about having to replace your LG G8 ThinQ™ that you purchased from Sprint. Your Sprint variant of the LG G8 ThinQ™ runs on Sprint's network which is a CDMA network. As you are aware, T-Mobile successfully acquired Sprint as of April 1, 2020, becoming one company and effectively bringing the total number of major US cell carriers from four down to three. The Sprint brand was officially discontinued as of August 3, 2020, & while you were still able to use Sprint's network for a while after the merger, Sprint subscribers that are in an area where Sprint doesn't have LTE coverage will automatically connect to T-Mobile's LTE network. T-Mobile uses the GSM network as opposed to the CDMA network used by Sprint, so even though T-Mobile also markets the LG G8 ThinQ™, the T-Mobile variant cannot run on Sprint's CDMA network nor can the Sprint variant run on T-Mobile's GSM network. T-Mobile says it’s working on a unified GSM device portfolio in the future so that any new phone will work on the new T-Mobile's full network...^IFV

is the thinq 5g capable?

Asked by: dj72
The LG G8 ThinQ™ | Verizon, Model # LMG820UMB works on the LTE B2, B4, B5, B13, B46, B48, B66; LTE Roaming: B3, B7, B20, B28; UMTS : B1, B2, B5, B8; CDMA BC0/BC1, EVDO Rev.0/A frequencies. 4G phones still work on a 5G network, they just won't get that coveted 5G speed. 5G is not an entirely new network. It's just added on top of the 4G 4G network, so your 4G phone will keep working just fine and you'll only have to upgrade if you want 5G's blazing speed...^IFV
