LG Stylo™ 4 | LRA
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wow I honestly love this phone it was perfect for the price and worked really well. Had it for over a year before my first major issue. It is a problem with the fingerprint scanner. It started to give me the error restart device message. And i would and it helped. But it kept happening. Now it wont work at all. I will love to get the stylo 5 soon hopefully it wont be an issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasant Reunion with Android I had a love/hate relationship with Wndows Phone. It was such a smooth and easy system. I cannot put my finger on just what it was that made me prefer it so much over Android (notice the fascist OS is not even named here). However, fewer and fewer apps were available, and even though I have an Android tablet, it was not as convenient and seamless as having the apps on the one thing that I would most likely always carry - my telephone. When I got the "burn notice" from Microsoft, something which I knew would come, I decided to get a headstart on the changeover, just in case there were any hiccups. I figured I would have them all corrected by 31 December 2019. That is the long preamble. I searched for several hours over two days to re-acclimate myself to features available on Android and what I should seek in a phone. Mid-level pricing with the features I need on a brand I trust with good support and high marks from users. The Stylo 4 became the best candidate. The refurbished unit was offered a price ten dollars shy of a full 50% off the going price. CH-CHING! I have had it for just under a month now. It makes my return to Android a happy one. I am still discovering features, what they do and how to use them. The most recent is the connection to my LG account and stuff I can do through this. I know that people do not want to read a lot of words, so let me get to the meat. RING VOLUME - The volume on the ring is good, as I have heard it in my kitchen while I was on the second story of a cape cod home with the door to the upstairs closed. BATTERY - The battery life is excellent. I have a problem with forgetting to plug my phone in for charging at the end of the day. This phone lets me get away with this. I have gone two days and still had around 25% left. CHARGE TIME - So when I exceeded the limits (going for three days) I got in trouble with my Bride. BUT this phone recharged to about 30% in about 30 minutes. I was reachable and we lived hap -no- I got to live. BLUETOOTH - Easy and fast connections to my KM18 car adapter, my Big Blue speaker and another slightly off-brand speaker. SIZE - It fits in my pocket and is still small enough to let me forget it is there. SOUND - Voice and vocal media are clear. The volume range is a bit low. However, this may be due more to my audio settings than the phone capabilities. CAMERA - This is not a major issue for me, since I am an amateur photographer and do not expect the kind of quality my cameras produce. However, the few pictures I have taken are clear. The flash for the rear-facing camera and the screen for the front camera enhance the color and light balance as they should. RINGER CHOICE - The ringers that come with the phone are not as wide in variety (as opposed to number) as I would like. I try to avoid the musical tones in favor of more traditional bell-type ringers. These are absent on the phone as shipped. I refuse to have my phone inundated by ads from "free" phone ringer apps. On a previous phone I was able to create my own ringers (I am also a music composer) and upload them to the phone and use them. I am not sure if the Stylo 4 will let me do this. SECURITY - I ordered it and then realized after the fact that I had not checked to see if the Stylo 4 used biometrics. I was happy to learn upon delivery and setup that it does. It has opened on facial recognition. I mostly use the fingerprint reader. WIFI - The handoff from mobile to wifi and back is not always smooth. Sometimes, online services (like media sources) stop when the wifi signal is weak, and I have to wait for the phone to get back on mobile. This is something I have observed with my Bride's Android sets over the years. I am working on my home wifi access anyway. That should solve the problem for us at home. I will stop here, because as I said before I have not had the phone a full month yet. The noted small issues above are the reason for the four-star rather than five-star rating. Good phone with more than expected at this price from a reliable brand. Kudos to LG.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good phone. I have had this phone for a little over a month now and my stylus pen fell out twice and the second time it is lost for good. Also it tends to freeze up every now and then and my battery life doesnt last that long.
