What People Are Saying

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It a decent phone V30+, but??? We bought this phone over a year ago. It works as it should. My wife likes her phone. I considered it a flagship. LG just has not been able to get there act together, since the LG G4 total failure. It seems that LG is designing better phones like in previous years. The problem is LG is lacking in supporting there cell phones. Here we are after the big we promise three years of updates from LG, waiting to get a now almost one year old OS update. It's almost pointless since the next OS is coming out. LG isn't going to improve it's sales if it doesn't deliver on there promises. The customers have felt once again abandoned. Does word of mouth cost sales? Yes of course. Does failure to your customers cost sales? Yes. If your propriety software LG specific is causing these delays, then abandon it, not your customers. You can build a phone so good it can walk a dog, it isn't going to make any difference if your customers think and know they have once again been left behind.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but room for improvement. The V30 is a good phone, but I am a year in and flaws are beginning to show. As I type this I have sent my phone in for warranty service through the two year warranty program, which was a nice perk... and necessary, as you will see. The good: The cameras are great, manual controls, focus and wide angle are excellent. The phone looks good and performs well and music sounds great on a wired connection to my headset. The bad: After a year, the screen developed issues. If I was looking at it in bed or in a dark room and the backlight was on the lowest setting for longer than a couple of minutes, dull red crosshatching would form in the black areas of the screen... it didn't effect performance but it looked bad and was irritating. Battery life decreased. It's just natural that the battery would get worn out after a year of use but I really loved the battery swap capability of previous LG phones. This is the first phone I have ever had that I could not swap the battery on. I realize that the industry is going that way, and that there are definite benefits to not having removable batteries... but I miss that feature from the G3 and G4... and even from the G5, god rest it's glitchy soul. Bluetooth also got flaky. This is kind of a big thing for me, all of my peripherals are bluetooth and I frequently listen to audiobooks and music. On a daily basis I connect to a Gear S3 smartwatch, a Level U headset and a Yamaha MCR-B020 stereo. Over the past couple of months the phone would disconnect from any of the three and only reconnect to the Gear S3. Then I would have to disconnect the watch, connect to the other device, and reconnect to the watch. Despite hard resets, deleting and reconnecting to all devices and completely wiping the phone, these issues persist. There is also an issue with the always-on display where the display always shows whichever bluetooth device last connected to or disconnected from it instead of the clock and notifications. After trying to fix it for a week I just turned off the always-on display. I am hoping that the warranty work fixes these issues. That would cause me to add a star for the whole experience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Better if they honored the 2nd Year Promise The phone is fine, but they don't seem to be able to honor their Second Year Promise. After two weeks trying to deal with the people who run the Second Year Promise program, they are unable to find a replacement phone. Customer service doesn't seem to really be looking into it. All they tell me every time I've contacted them for over a week is that they have no updates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be happier I have had this phone for 5 months now and it has met and exceeded all my expectations. It is a 64 G hard drive with 128 G SD card and it will accept Thumb-drives as well. It runs Office 365 with out any problems. For a mobile unit i find it amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great phone I have had this phone about 2 years. A couple months ago I was fishing and my phone fell into the river. The water was to high and swift for me to retrieve it so I had to leave it in the river even though I was still paying for it. I had another lg phone that I reactivated and was so heavy hearted over losing my v 30 and I could not stop thinking about it. About 2 weeks went by and I was checking my messages and the voice of a young boy said hey Letha I found your v30 in the river and it still works , Yes that's right under water for 2 weeks and it is working great. Needless to say I was flabbergasted. The boys granddad had come to tenn from sussex, VA For a family members funeral and the grandkids wanted to go fishing and thank God they did. They r such a sweet and honest bunch of people and I will be forever grateful for their kindness. The granddad even paid the shipping to send it back to me at No charge. I told him to keep my number and the next time they came in my husband and I would take them out to dinner. I am very proud to own this v 30 and I have told many people my story and some have went and bought one. Thanks for creating such an airtight awesome phone. Proud customer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid flagship, one possible drawback I love the LG V series, the Quad DAC, OLED screens and wider dimensions make for a superior line compared to the G series. As for the V30 directly, the screen seems to be ghosting a little and this has me worried that it may progress to burn in later in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from For a flagship model it is a disappointment. Have not received the Pie update.... just too slow with the updates...had the phone for 16 months and the battery has deteriorated.Followed up with the advertised guaranteed 2 year replacement because the battery is horrible and was told to send a picture of the phone after I made the claim.LG does not stand behind its 2 year guarantee. Most likely like Apple, their updates diminished the battery life so you buy a new phone.Beware consumer...they don't care, like many other corporations....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome all around phone. I've had this phone a little over a year now and before it I had a V10. After the V10 started having bug issues a year in, I got a replacement phone courtesy of LG(Thank you LG), i was sent the G6, which was a decent phone that I had for 4 months. But, the G6 didn't satisfy me as the V10 did, so I traded in the G6 for the V30, I was instantly satisfied. I love the V-series phones, they are so underrated and astonishing in every way. The screen, the OS, cameras, the quad dac converter, everything is great....theres only one small flaw, the speaker phone isnt that loud, but since its a phone speaker and its mono, you cant expect for it to be a boombox. Whoever purchases this phone will not disappointed!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feature packed!!! I bought this phone on a super open box sale and it was worth every penny. I love all the features it comes with. The quad DAC, wireless charging, fantastic battery life, usb type-c charging. This phone is just about perfect. It looks great and handles well with all my apps and games. It is a bit low on the ram, only 4 gigs, it isn't too much of an issue yet. It takes awesome pics and video. There is a lot of custom cases to choose from to fit your personality. Overall a great phone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Hardware Love LG V and G series. Just wish I could get a new flagship phone when they first come out. I always have to wait for Android updates so i can sell my paid off unlocked previous model for a decent price. Im planning on getting the G8 if Pie ever comes to V30+ or someone else puts a DAC in theirs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was great bc of headphone, cameras, and screen I'd be fine with this phone for the next 2 years if it continued to work and got speedy updates...too bad the customer service doesn't live up to its name (and LG doesn't provide speedy updates). I've had multiple issues with various service claims and updates issues... I wish I could say I was a committed lifetime LG customer but my experience so far (after 2+ years) isn't backing this up. Don't hire powerless third parties to take care of your warranty claims. It's lazy and not personable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great phone! I really like this phone, a replacement for my much loved Lg V20. The only thing I don't like is the non-removable battery, which was one of my main reasons for wanting a V20.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, decent phone. I like this phone quite a lot, it's a decent upgrade from my previous OnePlus 2. The only thing I wish LG would have done is to add at least 6 GB of RAM, but that's not really a huge issue at all, the phone is snappy, and overall has great performance. However having 6 GB of RAM would have helped the phone be a bit more "future proof". One other thing is there is far too much bloat on this phone app wise, which should be optional in my personal opinion. The speaker which is mono and in a spot that easily cover by your hand is alright sounding but is slightly on the quiet side and gets covered by the hand far too easily which can be a bit annoying. Other than that, this phone is great, I'm impressed

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Generally nice but problematic with no LG support I bought my V30 in March 2018 after loving my V10 for a couple years before it. I had high expectations. Everything was great for a while. Smooth operation, nice customization options, easier to hold than the V10 due to smaller size. Then my audio jack went bad and was unusable in November 2018. My carrier did a warranty swap without any problems and I was happy again, although the replacement seemed to be slightly more glitchy. Not overly problematic, but definitely not as smooth as my original. By March 2019 I was having serious problems with the fingerprint sensor and it eventually stopped working. It was then that I noticed the battery had swelled to the point that it broke the phone back open. I checked with LG and they won't cover it because it was manufactured in October 2017. Forget that it was not sold until November 2018 and that the end user only got 5 months out of it. Not their problem. They made it too long ago. Too bad for you, Mr. Consumer. Thanks for the fun, LG. I won't be back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Already reviewed this, but I'll say it again As I already said, I love the phone, as I always love LG phones. I have owned all of the V series, from the 10, to the 20 and now the 30. Awesome all around, and I don't even miss the removable battery because this phone is optimized so well, it lasts a long time. And even if I needed more power, I would just buy a zerolemon extended battery, BUT......... I'm incredibly disappointed that you won't give me ANY warranty on the phone, simply because I bought it on Ebay. Brand new, in the box, a reliable seller who is transparent and selling to TONS of people, that is just petty and small of your company, and so, no bueno to that, but as far as the phone itself, it's just awesome, and I'm grateful to have it. Bad customer relations, however. You should offer the warranty to any new phone that is out there on the market. I got a legitimate phone from a legitimate transaction, and Ebay is now watched over very well, it is all legit, and so, this policy is no good. That's it. Thanks for asking. Peace. Rock

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery sucks Purchased the phone just over a year ago through T-Mobiles bogob(buy one get one broke). The battery does not charge good at all. By the time the battery was tested and we went back to T-Mobile the said the phone was not under warranty. According to LG we did not have the 2 year battery warranty, which I don't think we were told about. Looks like a new Apple customer is on it's way. We were looking to purchase new appliances from LG but after reading all the problems, if it isn't free LG is not for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints Had this phone for a year and a half, I just got a new one under the second year promise because my original one started to get dead pixels in the corner. I love the display and the wide angle lens. On top of that, it still has a headphone jack, and upgradable SD memory.
