What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful phone, don't Buy! I bought this phone about a year and a half ago and it is terrible. The flashlight/camera flash stopped working along with the volume button. The GPS works intermittently(in places when I have good service) and has stopped receiving text messages. Group messages have never worked on this phone. I would not recommend! My brother has also experienced the same problems with this phone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Phone I've had this phone for a couple of weeks and it is a nice upgrade from the G4. I love the fingerprint reader. Camera takes good pictures. I'm happy with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery dies really quick, very disappointed. the battery goes from 100% to 60% in less than five minutes some times.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from LG UI & swappable battery-great, phone is terrible This is the most unreliable phone I have ever owned. It shuts down for no reason at random times and continues to do so until it just gives up on its miserable life altogether. Never to turn on again. I have had it replaced by Verizon three times and all replacements have had the same problem. LG and Verizon will not acknowledge the problem, and Verizon customer service is a nightmare to wade through.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No update since 2 years I am using LG G5 from 2 years and not a single os update on my phone. I am bored with this old os.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst phone I ever had! I hadn't even had my phone for an entire year and I've had to replace this thing 3 times. Whoever designed the battery pack that slides out at the bottom, worst design ever. If a droplett just happens to get between the crack the phone is ruined. Two of my phones died from that design. So, I got a case, but with this phone the GPS is broken. So I can't use maps and makes traveling an inconvenience. Ontop of that, the screen locks when I get a phone call AND now when I try to edit my widgets, so I can't even do that anymore. I'm done with this phone, this is the worst phone, because my phones last years, and with this one it hasn't even been an entire year and I've had three of them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylus is awesome Great phone as long as you don't ask it ri do to much at a time, used the stylo4 while my note 8 was being repaired and it was definitely an adjustment but not bad at all. The phone desperately needs more ram.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problem Receiving Calls I have owned this phone for 1 year and 1 month. I started out very happy with it. I liked the resolution, speed and camera. The camera takes excellent photos. More recently phone calls go directly to voice mail. I don't get a ring and I don't see a missed call, just a voice mail. When I power off and then restart, it seems that I am able to receive calls. I'm not sure that I would buy this phone again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG's G5 - VS987 Titan: Quality & Price LG has done it again with the G5 Titan cellphone! Excellent quality at a reasonable price point, especially compared to it's competition. Whether looking at function or it's camera, size or durability, this phone can do it all. Fantastic photos and video, tons of app availability, more than ample storage and ease of updating with excellent security features. After owning most of the top manufacturer's similar units I can say that for the price and support this one's got my vote! As an avid bird watcher and licensed amateur radio operator, I'm very pleased by my G5's ability to be integrated with my needs. Some cellphones seem to be a compromise between one good function or another, but LG's G5 Titan really hits the mark by offering top quality throughout the phone's functions. Photos simply Pop with color and crispness and detail. Storage seems endless and the sound quality - whether in calls or playing music is clear and dynamic. Also, the user interface with the operating system are fantastic, the ability to control every aspect of every individual app and system function is very appealing. My wife and I both have come to rely our G5's superior quality and because of this have purchased other LG products with confidence and peace of mind. I highly recommend LG to anyone as a very worthwhile choice in cellphones and their other products and hope they help you enjoy all the aspects of the information age in the 21st century and beyond!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Phone! I`m very new to Smartphones so I was not sure I really wanted one. Now that I`ve had the LG G5 phone for 6+ weeks I would hate to be without it! I tried and disliked the Apple phones, too proprietary, but this Android unit is very easy to use. It does everything I want very well. So many apps on the Google Play Store without the hassles of the iTunes store. One BIG point is that it uses the USB-C and OTG, "On-The-Go", a requirement for me. This has been a great purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nimble in the hand with adequate speed Had this phone almost two years. Still working strong always used a case not sure of durability without one. The chipset was very capable for the time, after the g4 fiasco with bootloops, they got the hardware right as a standalone phone. Even though the accessories were not a hit or must have. Replacement battery, headphones jack and usb c as well as quad hd made this phone a cutting edge rival to the galaxy phones. Water proofing probably could have been achieved but did not change opinion. Good phone overall even in 2019.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing pics I bought this in October 2018. Love the pictures it would take until the zoom and focus lens stopped working (non wide lens). Battery does ok. Overall a good phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this LG phone! This phone was all I had hoped it would be. So much so that I did not upgrade to the newer versions. It is fast, takes very nice photos, has the fingerprint security option which can be used for all my apps that require a password.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from nice camera, fast charging. My LG G2 stopped working this last summer. Loved the G2. Would charge it once a week, with average use. Tmobile replaced my G2 with this G5. Now I have to charge it once a day, if I limit my use. The G5 takes great pictures, but charging every day? Maybe it's time to go back to a flip phone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Instant Brick I bought this phone a few days ago, received it on a Friday evening and it was bricked by Saturday night. After updating the phone it got stuck in a reboot cycle at which point it finally crashed and now will not charge or turn on at all. Really not happy with my first LG experience...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Powerfull but gltitchy I've had this phone for about 6 months now and have run into a couple issues. The GPS antenna has a poor contact and wouldn't get a signal without pinching the top right of the phone case . apparently it's a common problem. Unfortunately there is a flood of misinformation on how to fix it. Small pad of tinfoil between the case and GPS connector fixed it. My fast charging stopped working so I'm hoping it's a battery issue and not the charge port. Last issue I have is artifacts being burned into the screen. I get ghost images for up to an hour after my phone has been idling on one screen for a while. Great phone if you have the time to fix it or trouble shoot it. It was an upgrade for me so I only paid my deductible. I would be really angry with LG if I had paid retail price for this phone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the phone very much. My problem; just after paying off a 2 year lease, suddenly, more often than not, the fast charger won't stay connected. Don't know if it's the cord or the battery connection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from **DONT BUY, I REPEAT, DONT BUY** Don't buy this phone. The battery on it is awful. There is a reason why you are able to just remove the battery from this phone and replace it. You would be replacing it a lot! Haven't had it a year and already had the phone and battery replaced and having the same issue again. Go to sleep at 100%, wake up at 83%. That isn't normal battery loss for overnight. Only thing good about this phone is its camera.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Downgrade compared to my LG G3 I bought this phone on Black Friday and it was the only flagship in my price range. I had sold my LG G3 and had expected this phone to be better than it. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The smaller battery gets hot and does not last as long, the display has a burning issue, and build quality is way poorer than my G3. There is somehow dust underneath my camera lens which speaks on how good it's on there and the screen likes to pop out of the body. The fast charge doesn't work sometimes and drains battery instead of charging. Would not recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from wouldbe 5 star if lg US992 give oreo update This phone still great to use even in this year, but it's look like outdate not because the display neither the camera nor the chipset... But, this phone still NOUGAT...even G5 already rollout the OREO update, WHY ?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my G5 up until Android 8 update. My phone is the 2nd one after the first refused to fully activate. This one runs circles around my old g3. I was excited when they released android 7 on it and never expected an android 8 release, but it arrived a few weeks ago. I love how it works, but noticed my battery life went from average, to losing a percentage every 30 minutes while plugged in to original LG cord. I turned off location, wifi and tethered it via usb thinking that would work on my thunderbolt ports. Same issue. Rebooting fixes it temporarily. Even when battery saver is on, it happens. clearing cache does no good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the Phone; Hate the Battery I've had this phone a little over 2 years now. I got a great deal on it when the G6 was released. I tend to be very brand loyal, consequently I have owned ONLY LG phones. LG phones get mixed reviews...people either love them or hate them. I bought this one because I waited too long to buy the G3. It wasn't rated as high as the G3 but higher than the G4 (which almost everyone seemed to hate). The salesperson at T-Mobile said that people who are heavy users or abusers won't like any phone while those that don't will ultimately find one they love. She was right. I fall into the latter category. I'm a moderate user and I don't abuse my electronics...so I LOVE my G5. I'd rate it 5 stars if I could get through an entire day without having to recharge it. It's definitely a battery hog. I'm a moderate user. I check my email, check in on twitter and instagram, send a few text messages, and check sports via the Bleacher Report app--that's about it. I can get through most days without ever making a phone call. Yet, even with it sitting idle most of the time, it will need to be charged before I leave the office at the end of the day. If it's any consolation I can honestly admit that the battery performs now almost as well as it did when it was new--2 years ago.
