What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My primary oven This unit is in my travel trailer. I am using it for my Primary oven. It does require some changes when baking- works best to use convection with thin pans and circular so pan can move evenly through heat. The microwave popcorn button is so amazing- no programming necessary it just senses and cooks! Also very quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I bought this for a replacement for the one that I couldn't get parts for. The old one was 14 years old. I love the features that this has .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Quality This microwave convection oven does everything I want. The microwave sensor makes sure that food is cooked for the right amount of time--not overdone, not undercooked. I tried using the convection feature, which I'd never had before, and was delighted that everything I cooked came out just right. The only thing to remember is that, because the oven isn't preheated, use the longest cooking time shown on the package or recipe rather than the shortest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thorough cooking I love how this microwave behaves like an oven in many respects with the convection feature. Dishes are served much more thoroughly cooked than a conventional microwave by far.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed My wife and I needed a new microwave, and we bought this for it's added bonus of "convection" cooking. We've used it's "convection" cooking twice, and the results were wonderful. Convection cooking meat gives it a different flavor and texture. That being said, we've already had a problem with it. While using it's convection setting, it stopped in the middle of it and gave us an error code of F-5. The repairman will be out today to fix it under warranty. So, assuming that it gets repaired and cooks consistently, I can give this microwave a thumbs up. But the verdict is still out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I received this as a gift and couldn't believe all the functions it has. I haven't used most of them yet, but will soon. The only issue I have is that it didn't come with the glass turntable which was imperative for using the other functions. I have contacted LG and waiting for it to be sent to me.

Can this convection microwave be built in to a cabinet wth a trim kit? I am interested in putting it above my wall oven

Asked by: MaryD3241
The LG 1.7 cu. ft. Over the Range Convection Microwave Oven, Model # LMVH1711ST, like all other LG Over the Range Microwaves is designed to be installed over a freestanding range oven with a minimum installation clearance of 30" from the bottom of the upper kitchen cabinets to the cooktop surface before the microwave is installed and the upper cabinets must have a minimum width of 30" between them. The only trim kit that LG makes is designed for select Countertop Microwaves and there isn't a trim kit available for any of our Over the Range Microwaves. Regrettably, the LMVH1711ST we do not instructions for its installation above a wall oven. IT is not designed for this type of installation...^IFV

Are you able to turn off the microwave and just use this as a convection oven? Or does the microwave always run?

Asked by: dhimmer1
Convection cooking temperature in the LG 1.7 cu. ft. Over the Range Convection Microwave Oven, Model # LMVH1711ST ranges from 100°F to 450°F and during convection cooking, an element is used to raise the temperature of the air inside the oven. It is a selectable function and there is a touch pad button on the microwave's control panel labeled 'CONV' for that mode...^IFV

I live in a hi-rise condominium. No way to vent out. I own a LG electric range. Steam vents from a stainless steel bar across the back of the electric range. Please recommend an over the range stainless steel Convection Microwave Oven with exhaust/vent

Asked by: Charlie Chan
Hi Charlie. Regrettably, without any information about your kitchen and the upper cabinets, we cannot recommend a specific model. However, to determine which over-the range microwave would best suite your needs, we can give you some information that will help you in selecting one. The LG 1.7 cu. ft. Over the Range Convection Microwave Oven, Model # LMVH1711ST, like most of the LG Over-the-Range Microwave Ovens can all be vented in one of three ways. They can be Roof-vented, Wall-vented or Room-vented. The ovens are shipped with the blower assembled for room venting so if you do not need roof venting or wall venting then all you need to make sure is that the over-the-range microwave oven is installed accordingly. The upper cabinet that you are installing the over-the-range microwave under must have a minimum clearance height of 30" from the bottom of the cabinet to the cooktop or countertop surface before installation of the microwave. The cabinet opening width must also have a minimum of 30" and the grounded outlet must be located inside the upper cabinet above the microwave oven. The LG Over-the-range microwave ovens come with installation manuals and templates for ease of installation. They also come with varying capacities and with different features...^IFV

Does this microwave have the capability of beeping after heating is complete as a reminder that something is in the microwave? As it is, it beeps just when it's finished and I forget to take my tea out til the next day! Very annoying.

Asked by: Allnicknamesalreadyused
I apologize, but no; this microwave oven does not have an option available to change the END OF CYCLE alarm until the door is opened. The alarm is designed to beep 4 times at this point.

Fortunately for this unit, the bulbs are the same and nee to be replaced with a candelabra-base 20 watt bulb. You can contact the Home Depot to inquire if they carry such bulbs...^IFV

How to prevent non-vented LMVH1711St from exhausting steam to front of cabinets?

This microwave was installed without exterior venting. What could be causing the microwave to vent steam to the front of the upper cabinets? Do you have an installation guideline? I do not have the installation instructions.
Asked by: Hane1972
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this microwave oven. If the vent fan is not directed through an UP or BACK facing opening, then the exhaust duct will vent upward from the front of the microwave cabinet. The installation guide has no modification suggestions for such situations. However, it should be possible to obtain a copy of the Installation Guide by contacting our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.
