What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good but could use some little improvements. We bought this microwave because we needed a new over-the-range microwave and were also adding an outside vent. This model had almost all the features we wanted and the Extenda Vent looked like it would allow it to work more effectively. That proved to be true; this unit really purges the air and keeps the kitchen free of smoke and odors. Don't discount this unit if it doesn't immediately look to work like your old one. While it took a bit of time reading the manual and learning the controls, this microwave does everything we want it to. Pluses - A timer on the vent fan allows me to have it run for another 1, 3 or 5 minutes after I leave the kitchen and then shut it self off. - The warming feature is nice. It won't heat cold food but it does keep things warm until ready to be served. It also allows you to heat up plates. - The exhaust fan really pulls the air out of the kitchen. - The kitchen timer operates independently from the cooking timer. - the Defrost setting works well. Minuses - The beep that comes at the end of the timer or at the end of the cooking time is too soft. It's OK if you are in the kitchen but not if you are 1 or two rooms away. (Designers, make the volume of the beep a customer setting.) - When the kitchen timer ends it beeps a few times and then stops. I think this alarm should sound longer and really should require you to hit a button to silence the alarm. It's too easy to miss in a busy kitchen with kids running around or people talking. - The turntable is okay but our 10 year old GE provided a more solid feel when you put a heavy casserole on it. - The automatic reheat works okay but it leaves the food not quite as hot as I like it. If heating a plate of leftovers I give it another 30 seconds via the EZ-ON button. - I do miss the delayed start my old microwave had. I could set something to heat at a specific time and then go about tending to other dishes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Most features are good and helpful. The unit is quieter than many I have seen and used. Many features, such as time of day and cooking buttons, are quite simple to use. However, it is deficient in one very important way: One can not run the unit for a specified length of time by pressing just one button. My previous unit would run for I to 6 minutes by pushing just one key from number I to 6. This unit does have a key (EZ on) but it goes only for 30 seconds and one can push it up-to 4 times to run it for 2 minutes but no more. One can also add to or subtract 10 seconds from the cooking time but only if the oven is already running. Cleaning and keeping the shine is a little bit more demanding because of the metal exterior.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Second one was fine The first one we received after my husband and son-in-law spending 5 hours to install it, when we took off the protective blue tape the finish came off on the tape. I did not know stainless steal would come off on tape... The second on was fine and I do like the microwave. By the way Home Depot did the second install. They where great. LG not so helpful, or sorry. It was another week before I got the second microwave.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Microwave The LG LSMH207ST is really a great microwave. Our only problem was it was defective when we received it. We had already installed it before we realized the display panel didn't work. So it took about a month before we got that resolved, but once we did, we love it! I love the look of it and the vent that slides out. It is also very quiet. Our old microwave did a terrible job of defrosting meat, but this one does a terrific job of defrosting. Our old one would start to cook the meat when defrosting - not good. But this one defrosts perfectly! The con, as another reviewer stated, is the interior light. I can't even see inside the microwave when it's cooking. I might try swapping out the light bulb like the other reviewer did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Good and Not So Good The Good: Great Microwave w/ lots of features. Our previous microwave had 'Sensor' cooking, which was a 'must have' feature and a strong point for our decision to go w/ the LG LSMH207ST. Love the 400 CFM capacity pull out vent! The Not So Good: Only con so far is the interior lighting. I could barely see what was cooking. Not good when heating/warming sauces. I changed out the two 30w bulbs that came with it for 40w bulbs. This helped. Also the two cook-top lights are halogen. I would rather they be a variable LED type lighting. Also, the three buttons dedicated to 'Popcorn', 'Mac&Cheese' and 'Chicken Nuggets' are a big waste of one step functions for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this microwave I really love this microwave, it is so quiet. The slide out vent makes it nice when you are cooking on the front burners of the stove, and with the turbo fan, no smoke stays in the kitchen. Have not found one thing that I don't like about it. Great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome microwave This is an exceptional microwave. From it's stainless steel finish, sensor cooking feature, warming lamp and of course its quiet operation. This is a great upgrade for any kitchen. It also offers 2 tier cooking and best of all is the extended range fan which covers vapors from the front stove burners. Truly awesome!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from stopped working after 11 mos This microwave stopped working after 11 mos - totally dead. Just opened repair ticket - will see how successful or not the under warranty repair process is w/ LG. Before the product stopped working it operated just fine as a typical microwave. However there is one very annoying 'feature' - when it gets hot - say, when cooking rice, the VERY LOUD fan will automatically come on and run for 20-30 minutes - so don't plan on having any kitchen conversations, or having a relaxing meal around the time you use the microwave under certain conditions. Have had several microwaves (GE/Whirlpool) over the past 30 years, and never had this issue before - obvious design flaw. Last LG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the design of this microwave I especially love the lower horizontal control panel. My wife is short and it is much easier to use. I also like the extended vent and the fact that it only beeps once. Our last microwave would beep until the door was opened and it drove us crazy. It is fast to heatup leftovers and easy to clean. I also have an LG washer and phone and am impressed with the quality of the products they manufacture. It was a little difficult to install but looks very nice in our new kitchen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from what a great microwave I really love the sensor cooking/heating and the automatic features.
Date published: 2013-02-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product is a good value. I like the quietness and the overall quality. Advanced features like the radiation proof glass and additional vents are great. Control panel is not convenient to use. I prefer the large displays on the right side rather than at the bottom. One touch buttons for quick defrost and buttons for 1,2 and 3 minute cooking are needed. Once the cooking cycle is finished beep sounds few times. There is no reminder beeps in case we forget to take out the food.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really love this microwave and its features Cooking food and having to warm it in the oven has always been a hassle. Sometimes it would dry out or the oven would heat up the house. With the warming feature, once the food has been prepared and we're delayed in eating, the food is well preserved. Its quiet, sleek, looks good and out performs our old microwave. I love it and would certainly recommend this model to anyone wanting to purchase and LG Microwave.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor design Bulky design where the height does not might code because the distance between the stove top a microwave needs to be a certain distance. This distance is smaller because of the slide out vent. The microwave control panel is located directly above the stove top and sometimes goes bizerk cause by steam and heat. Prefer the side control panel and a shorter door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Addition to Kitchen Make-Over We chose the LG Over-the-range Microwave with the extendable hood for our recent galley-style kitchen make-over. While we had a few installation issues (the contract had not seated the unit correctly to the existing duct work) we are very pleased with its features and performance. While the exhaust (vented to outside) is a little louder than we would prefer, it certainly seems to work well and the timer/turn-off features allows us to leave it running for a pre-set time and leave the room. The Sensor-Cook/Re-heat features work very well, though I have to admit that most of our microwave 'cooking' is limited to baked potatoes, re-heating left-overs/dinner plates, some packaged rice/pasta dishes, etc. We tend to not use it for preparing main dishes (meats, poultry, fish) but should probably explore those recipes. We particularly like the warming features and the ability to stack (stage) several times/levels to managing slightly more complex tasks though those features are not very well spelled out in the user manual. Overall, we are very pleased with this unit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Looking We purchased our Studio Series - Over The Range Microwave with Extenda™ Vent and warming lamp a couple of months ago, it looks great over our LG range. It performs excellent and it is a lot quieter when cooking than our previous microwave, the fan is a bit loud but does work good. So far we have no complaints. The only problem I did have was my own fault I forgot to remove the defrost tray when making popcorn and melted a hole in the defrost tray. I have removed the tray.. I would recommend this microwave it cooks and looks very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Microwave Had this now for three months and love it. I took the time to read the manual and was glad I did. The thing I especially like that I learned was the EZ-on button for instant 30 second increments. Ordered online for the best price and free shipping/no tax. After looking it over real good, discovered a couple small indentations in the stainless (on the sides). E-mailed the seller and almost immediately was contacted by a locale repair company who came, looked it over, went back and ordered new parts and back to install new parts as soon as they came in. Happy with Plessers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase Upon installation, the turntable would not rotate. Within 20 hours LG had a technician at my house who discovered that the elctrical connection between the turntable and its motor had not been secured. The technician secured the connection and everything has functioned perfectly since. We have the unit vented to the outside of the house and it is terrific. No smoke or odor in the house. I have only two minor complaints: (1) The underside lights are weak, and (2) the exhaust fan is a tad lound. Otherwise, this is a great microwave.

Where can i buy 24inch width over the range microwave??please help i started the project got the stove 24 got cabinets 24 and now i cant find the microwave please help even if you know a place for refurbished ones.thanks

Asked by: zoran
Regrettably, LG does not make any over the range microwaves that have a 24" width. You may want to check retailers for refurbished units, but the refurbished units would be current units that have been refurbished...^IFV

Is there a 36" Trim Kit for the 30" LSMH207ST

Older opening that measures 36 inches, but no one still makes a 36 inch wide OTR Microwave/Hood combo. Need a trim kit for the sides and bottom in stainless steel.
Asked by: DRJohnson
I apologize, but no; this microwave oven has not been designed with a trim kit for wider installation openings.

Cleaning. Microwave lsmh207st

Hello, I have microwave lg lsmh207st I have used different stainless steel cleaning products and they leave strikes and spots...Yes I have used soap and water too and get the same results...Could your company recommend a cleaning product to help me keep my microwave spot and strike free...Also is the metal on the front of the microwave another type of brushed metal and not stainless steel because magnet sticks to the metal...Please email your company recommendations to me....Thanks, Roseann
Asked by: Tester1
We appreciate your interest in this LG microwave oven. Stainless Steel finishes can be cleaned with warm water and a mild detergent. When cleaning Stainless Steel, it is important that all detergent be rinsed off and the unit is wiped dry. Also, it is important to wipe in the direction of the grain of the metal. If a Stainless Steel Cleaner is preferred, it is important to follow the cleaner’s directions. These instructions are provided with the cleaner, and vary by cleaner. We have tested and recommend the use of the following Stainless Steel Cleaners: Simple Green Stainless Steel Cleaner; Ceramabryte Stainless Steel Appliance Cleaner; Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish; Magic American Products: Stainless Steel Magic (Aerosol Spray); Ceramabryte Stainless Steel Polish and Conditioner; KitchenAid Stainless Steel Cleaner. The metal being used is actually Stainless Steel. Your magnets are not so much sticking to the surface, as they are being attracted to the metal door components beneath the Stainless Steel finish.
