What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG Appliances all the way Bought the new dryer about 4 weeks ago as a result of my previous dryer committing suicide unannounced. Not only does the dryer match my LG washer but it is much more economical to run, has more options to suit my requirements and is easy to keep clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working A okay Always liked LG products, simply put they work and have great features. We had a LG washer and dryer over 10 years still working strong. Bought a new dryer because we moved and need a electric dry instead of a gas dryer. So far love it has more features then the original gas dryer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A typical dryer There really isn’t much to say, the features are nice and the WiFi features but I don’t know what else to say about this dryer.

Does this dryer have a 3-prong or 4-prong plug?

Asked by: littlemiss
Hi littlemiss. Thank you for your inquiry. The grounding and wiring for the LG 7.4 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Smart wi-fi Enabled Electric Dryer, Model # DKE3500W, like all our Electric Dryers, must conform to the latest edition of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 and to all applicable local regulations. It has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate (dedicated) 240 VAC, 60-Hertz single-phase circuit fused at 30 amperes. You can use a 30-amp, 240-volt, 3-wire or 4-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor and closed loop or forked terminals with upturned ends. A 4-wire connection is required for all mobile and manufactured home installations, as well as all new construction after January 1, 1996. A 3-wire connection is NOT permitted on new construction after January 1, 1996. If in doubt, you will need to check your local building codes or consult your local building inspector about which connection is allowed in your building or home...^IFV

Can you give the approximate drying temperatures of the three temperature options?

Asked by: clothier 1
Regrettably, our specifications do not list any temperatures for the drying cycles nor for the maximum drying temperature on the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.4 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Smart wi-fi Enabled Electric Dryer, Model # DLE3500W. The dual sensors system for the Sensor Dry Cycles detects and compares the moisture levels in the clothes and in the air and adjusts the drying time as needed to ensure superior results. The dryer automatically sets the dryness level and temperature at the recommended setting for each cycle. The Dry levels on this dryer are listed as Very Dry, Normal Dry and Damp Dry, however, those are ranges and the Temperature Settings are listed as High, Medium, Ultra Low. After the early 1990s, most dryer manufacturers reduced the internal temperatures for dryers and most modern dryers have at least three general cycles: low heat for delicates, medium heat for permanent press and high heat for regular clothes. The temperature range is typically 125°F to 135°F across these cycles. As a reference, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission states that an adult can suffer third-degree burns after five minutes if his skin is exposed to hot tap water at 120°F, so as a safety measure, companies want to make sure that the dryer cannot cause harm as you are interrupting a cycle or unloading clothes after drying is complete...^IFV
