What people are saying
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Eats My Clothes I purchased this dryer in June 2016. Initially it was fine. For the past several months, items with straps catch on the right front corner of the lint filter. Some suggest removing the lint beneath the filter, but the real problem is a faulty design. The photo shows that the tab on the right side of the lint filter holder does not align well with the protusions on the lint filter. This leads to "pushing" the right side of the lint filter up when heat expands the lint filter and filter holder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features Lots of cool features. Getting used to the product. However I do have a complaint. The left door if I don't take extra care it just slams. Feels like the door should close more gently.

Can purified water be used in the steam function? My tap water has a lot of calcium?

Asked by: Lisa Naples
The simplest answer to your inquiry with regards to if purified water can be used for the steam functions of the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.4 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity SteamDryer™ w/ NFC Tag On, Model # DLGX4271V is no, you cannot use it. The reason being that you cannot use distilled water in the dryer because the process of distillation removes all the contaminants found in water that have higher boiling points than that of water at 212˚ F. As the water with its' contaminants is boiled, the pure water turns into steam. If distilled water is used, the water level sensor in the steam generator will not work. So you may be asking what that has to do with purified water? Distilled water is purified water. The process of distillation is one of the technologies used to purify water...^IFV

Need spec for gas pipe connection and location

Asked by: Mike p13
Your laundry room must have a rigid gas supply line to your dryer. In the United States, an individual manual shutoff valve MUST be installed within at least 6 ft. (1.8 m) of the dryer, in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1 or Canadian gas installation code CSA B149.1. A 1⁄8 - inch NPT pipe plug must be installed. If using a rigid pipe, the rigid pipe should be 1/2 - inch IPS. If acceptable under local codes and ordinances and when acceptable to your gas supplier, 3⁄8 - inch approved tubing may be used where lengths are less than 20 ft. (6.1 m). Larger tubing should be used for lengths in excess of 20 ft. (6.1 m). This information is listed on page 21 of your owner’s manual.

We purchased gas Dryer Model # DLGX 4271. Can you use a side vent on the left side? What is the part number?. Can you recommend a company in Sacramento that will do this installation?

Asked by: Gungy
We appreciate your interest in this gas dryer. The exhaust duct has the ability to vent on one side, but not the other. The side will depend upon from where you are viewing. When looking at the front of the dryer cabinet, the machine can vent down, back, or to the left. We have no recommendations available of technicians who will do this job, other than an appliance installer.

How high off the ground is the bottom of the vent?

Please provide back vent specs (size, location, height off the ground of bottom of vent) for DLGX4271v. Is there a diagram other than "measure first"? This does not provide the information I need. Thank you!
