Not tumbling - DLGX8388NM
I turn on the power. Select a cycle (ie normal or perm press) I've tried all of them. I push the blinking go/pause button. The drum does not turn but I get a humming noise for 5 seconds and it stops but nothing happens. Almost sounds like the motor wants to go but somethings keeping it from moving. Filter is clean and the drum will turn if manually moved.

I have the DLGX8388NM and have loved it. I now have no heat, but the dryer cycles.....just no heat. The gas is fine, checked circuits, but have found no answers. What else could cause this problem?
It is difficult to determine the cause of this lack of heat. The unit may require inspection by a qualified service technician. My dryer (DLGX8388NM) rattles when drying. It has always been there but is getting much worse. What can I do to make this stop?!
I didn't receive the correct manual with this unit, Home Depot mixed it up with another model's book, and I'm losing my mind with the noise. I iron, launder and do other things in my laundry room while drying clothes. I need to know how to make this noise stop. I've found other complaints of this issue on other sites, but this site has nothing at all listed. One user said the rattle is due to defective metal being used for the frame.I don't know if this is the case, I work on computers and know a rattle can be caused by many different components, and can sometimes be fixed with a simple fix, I just have no idea where to look or where to even start,
All I know is if i touch the lower front area, the rattle stops. I'm not sure how to open the thing up, since I have no manual at all. Can you suggest a fix? can I download a manual?
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dryer. A copy of the owner’s manual can be downloaded from our website at http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-DLGX8388NM. If this unit has a rattling sound, and it is not caused by something in the drum, then the unit will likely require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.
