What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Dialogue Sound Quality I bought this item (LG SL10YG) a week ago overall it’s good sound quality but I am not at all happy with the dialog sound quality in this sound bar. Especially when there’s a background music while watching a movie you cannot even hear what the actors are talking about. I don’t know how come LG Launched a product with such a huge problem in the market or it’s the problem with just my unit. But I saw online a lot of people complaining about it. I sent the item back to LG for repairs in a hope that this issue will be fixed but if not I will return the item back against my refund since this issue is just unbearable.

What are the supported resolutions for this soundbar when using a pc? Been using it with my pc connected to hdmi 1 and can maintain 4K 60hz. However when i add HDR it drops to 30hz automatically. I also can´t choose 2560x1440p 60 hz resolution, only 30hz

The LG SL10YG 5.1.2 Channel 570W Sound Bar w/Meridian Technology & Dolby Atmos does not support video. It has 4K Passthrough (HDCP 2.2) which is High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 2.2-compatible and allows data to pass through the system without quality loss to a 4K TV without any processing. For example, all 4K content from a 4K source or an upscaling 4K Blu-ray player must be passed directly to the 4K TV. Check the specifications for the GPU in your connected PC. It may only be capable of supporting 4K @ 30Hz with HDR and it may only support 2560 x 1440p @ 30Hz or your TV may only support 2560 x 1440p @ 30Hz. The video resolution has nothing to do with the Soundbar other than that the Soundbar has 4K Passthrough to allow the 4K video signal to pass through...^IFV

Is the LG SL10YG 5.1.2 Channel 570W Sound Bar w/Meridian Technology & Dolby Atmos compatible with my LG OLED-65G6P TV?

Asked by: JoBa
Both the LG SL10YG 5.1.2 Channel 570W Sound Bar w/Meridian Technology & Dolby Atmos and the LG SIGNATURE OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 65'' Class (64.5'' Diag), Model # OLED65G6( support Bluetooth so they can be paired together to stream audio wirelessly from the TV to the Soundbar. The TV features an Optical Digital Audio Out that can be connected to the Optical Digital Audio In on the Soundbar. Both the TV and the Soundbar also feature an HDMI IN/ARC port so you can connect them via their HDMI IN/ARC ports. What’s the ideal location for the sub. Can it be by the tv and sound bar or does it need to be away from it?

Asked by: Big Daddy Cain
Subwoofers are omnidirectional so the best location for the Subwoofer for the LG SL10YG 5.1.2 Channel 570W Sound Bar w/Meridian Technology & Dolby Atmos will depend on the layout of your room and how you have your furniture set up. The owner's manual recommends that the closer the main unit and the subwoofer, the better the sound quality. It is recommended to install the main unit and the subwoofer as close as possible and avoid having an obstacle between the main unit and the subwoofer and keep it away from a device using the same frequency with this wireless connection such as medical equipment, a microwave or a wireless LAN device. Both the soundbar and the subwoofer should be kept away from devices such as a wireless router, microwave oven, etc., by over 1 m (3.3 ft) to prevent wireless interference...^IFV

Is there a fix or tip that can resolve this popping noise I get? It only happens when connected through arc while I'm watching cable. I unplug the system and power cycle it but it only fixes it temporarily. Can I get some help?

Will Dolby Atmos work well on the SL10YG if the soundbar is sitting 36 inches off the floor, or should the soundbar be set higher?

Asked by: TufGong
Dolby recommends that for an ideal playback experience, the LG SL10Y 5.1.2 Channel 570W Sound Bar w/Meridian Technology & Dolby Atmos, should be located at least 4 to 5 feet from the listener's seated position and that you should avoid sitting too close to the soundbar and avoid positioning the soundbar so low that you are looking down on the top of the soundbar as this will disrupt the sonic effect. They also recommend an ideal ceiling height of between 7.5 and 12 feet, however, testing at Dolby confirms that listeners can achieve a high-quality overhead experience from Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers in environments where the ceiling height ranges up to 14 feet (4.3 meters). Dolby states that the system is so robust that recessed lighting fixtures, chandeliers, crown molding, and heating or air conditioning vents in the ceiling do not noticeably interfere with the Dolby Atmos experience. They recommended that for optimum playback performance with dramatic overhead effects, you should mount the Dolby Atmos-enabled soundbar at or slightly above a seated listener’s ear level. You can place the soundbar on a console in front of the display or on a shelf or wall underneath the tv. The upward-firing Dolby Atmos drivers in the soundbar must have clear line-of-sight access to the ceiling. The ceiling should be constructed of an acoustically reflective material, such as wallboard, plaster, hardwood, or any rigid, non-sound absorbing material. For optimal playback, the ceiling should be flat. A shallow vaulted ceiling will provide acceptable performance...^IFV
