If you forget your password, you can clear it using the following steps: 1. Remove any disc that might be in the player. 2. Select [Password] option in the [Setup] menu. 3. Use Number buttons to enter “210499”. The password is cleared. We appreciate your interest in this BluRay player. When no remote control is in use, the only control options available are the POWER, PLAY/PAUSE, STOP and OPEN/CLOSE. Any other operations will require the remote control.

We appreciate your interest in this BluRay player. This device has 2 methods available for opening the disc tray. The OPEN/CLOSE button, on the player, is located immediately to the right of the display window. On the remote control, this same button is located immediately above the #3 button.

Why Does This Have Software Updates for Another Model?

I was thinking about updating this, but then realized it's an update to a completely different model. The BD550. And the PDF manual is for the BD551, but the manual itself lists this as the BD611. What's up with that? Does the update come with Cinavia?
Asked by: WVPhil
We regret your dissatisfaction with this BluRay player and its features. According to the information we have, Cinavia DRM has been added to all new BD players beginning the first quarter of 2010. As such, this feature should not be added in recent updates. If you have additional questions about this, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

BD611 Blu-ray Disc Player with Cinavia

BD611 Blu-ray Disc Player Does it have Cinavia installed. Are you filmier with Cinavia.
Asked by: john25
I bought two of these in the past year like in early 2012 with an firmware update as late as summer and had absolutely no issues with Cinavia. I didn't realize this was an issue until someone gave me a newer model for Christmas that accesses streaming media and suddenly became much more aware of this dirty DRM thing. I'm returning the new model and bought the old 611 from eBay. But I noticed that there is new firmware posted on this site for this, but not sure if this update has Cinavia so I will not be upgrading. It would be nice to know if the update has this. But since this product doesn't have media streaming, a Roku will have to do the trick. It seems I no longer have a need for LG products because of so-called DRM protection. I guess this model is what they call, the last of the finest.

does BD611 Blu play REGION FREE Pal dvds?

Region is not the same as Pal/Ntsc formats for standard dvds (not talking Blu - there are no Pal/Ntsc Blu discs). I know the unit it region 1, but some of their players will play PAL dvds (as specified in the manual) if the disc is region-free. Anyone who really owns the BD611 know if it will play Pal dvds?
Asked by: lazyboy
This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the unit. This unit can play only BD-ROM or DVD discs labeled same as the rear of the unit or “ALL”.
