How do I finalize the disc on the LG DVD Recorder, model number DR1F9HB?

We appreciate your interest in this DVD Recorder. Once the recording has completed, press the MENU button and access the DISC SETTINGS menu. From this point, select FINALIZE and press the RIGHT ARROW button. Press ENTER while FINALIZE is selected. Select OK and then press ENTER. The recorder will start finalizing the disc.

the DVD Recorder refuses to finalize the dvd disk

the recording goes smoothly but when I try to finalize the disk, a sign appears saying "finalization has failed".

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this DVD Recorder. Failure of finalization can occur due to a bad disc structure or problems with the player. It could also be a disc that automatically finalizes. To troubleshoot this matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.
