What people are saying
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super quality, bang for the buck I was looking for a best projector and was going through amazon. I have seen few Chinese projectors and tried it. I didn’t like any one of them, so I decided to get a branded one. I came across this projector in one of the reviews in YouTube and went for it. One of the best decision I have made in recent times going with a lg projector. Believe me guys you will not regret and if any one is buying lg projector based on this review believe me you will thank me

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent picture quality! I believe this has one of best pictures out there for a 1080p,comparing it to my old 1080p lamp based model, which has a great picture in itself, with the Lg I can make out scars and wrinkles much better on the LG. Other than the picture quality the software is not too great, its ok but when choosing menus items sometimes its just takes way to long before it finally opens . All in all I was on the fence with this one as far as keeping it, however the picture quality alone is what made me decide on this one and not go for a 4k model. I also like the fact that I can connect my Bluetooth head set to this and not have to connect to the other devices that are connected to it, so just one device for Bluetooth is great. The sound on the speaker is great to me as with my old one was not even considered volume up on my old would result in crackly unusable sound. For me the lack of Apps and latency with the menus is not good, however the quality of the picture and cost compared to a current 4k projector is way worth the sacrifice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Projector Saw this LG projector on Costco's website, and when I read the laser lamp was rated for 10,000 hours I wanted to try it. I seldom used my previous projector, because I was always trying to prolong the life of the expensive lamp. This LG projector is 2,000 lumens, which is considerably brighter than my previous projector's 750 lumens. It's not movie theater bright, but with the blinds closed it does an admirable job. The reviews said this projector does not reproduce true shades of red, rather they are on the orange side, which I have noticed, but it's not distracting. All and all this is a nice projector.

Does the cable charge the projector so it can be used without mains power

Asked by: Bracosdog
The LG Laser Smart Home Theater Projector, Model # HF80JA does not have a USB-C port on it that supports USB PD (Power Delivery) that you can use to charge the unit and it does not have a built-in battery, so you have to plug it into an outlet using the supplied AC/DC Adapter to supply power to the unit...^IFV

Does the projector need to be set in the middle of the wall? Does it have horizontal skew?

Asked by: alexander123
The LG Laser Smart Home Theater Projector, Model # HF80JA should not be placed on a wall or ceiling that is close to sources of oil or oil mist. It should have good ventilation around it and the distance between the projector and the wall should be at least 30 cm. IT can also be placed on a table or shelf but avoid putting it near the edge. When installing it on a ceiling, a professional technician should install it using authorized toolsWhere you place it on the wall will depend on where the power outlet is and where the screen you are projecting it to is. It is recommended that you maintain a distance of more than 5 to 7 times the diagonal length of the screen. The distance between the projector and the screen determines the actual size of the image. IT should be placed in a position so that its lens is at a right angle to the screen. If it is not at a right angle, the projected image will look distorted. To correct the distortion, you can use the Edge Adjustment function...^IFV

If it is ceiling-mounted is it suspended upside down and then have a setting to invert the picture? Also if I use a 100 inch screen what is the throw distance from the projector to the screen?

Asked by: VPACE Media
HI VPACE Media. Even though the owner's manual for the LG Laser Smart Home Theater Projector, Model # HF80JA does mention that to install this projector to the ceiling by attaching a ceiling-type bracket to the projector using M4 x L8 screws, regrettably, it does not go into detail about anything else. However, since it can be mounted on a camera tripod, it follows that the bolt hole for attaching to the ceiling mount would be on the bottom of the projector. For a 100" (2540 mm) screen, your screen will have to have a height of 49 1/64" (1245 mm) and a width of 87 11/64" (2214 mm) and the throw or projection distance has to be 121 3/16" (3078 mm)...^IFV

What is the maximum amount of horizontal keystone correction?

Asked by: jwea
The LG Laser Smart Home Theater Projector, Model # HF80JA has an Auto Keystone function that provides a rectangular screen image by automatically adjusting the keystone number when there is a trapezoidal image caused when the projector is tilted. When the auto keystone function is off, the keystone number can be adjusted manually. Edge Adjustment (4 corner Keystone) adjusts the horizontal and vertical sides of the projected image if the projector is at an angle and not perpendicular to the screen. The value range for Edge Adjustments is as follows: --Top Left (H: 0 to 100, V: 0 to 100) --Top Right (H: -100 to 0, V: 0 to 100) --Bottom Left (H: 0 to 100, V: -100 to 0) --Bottom Right (H: -100 to 0, V:-100 to 0)...^IFV
