How to Replace your Water Filter

Here's all you need to know to change your refrigerator water filter. We're happy to show you how, step by step.

Keeping your refrigerator in tip top shape with a brand new water filter is a smart move. By changing your LT700P / LT700PC water filter on a regular basis, you'll continue to reduce contaminates such as iron, particulates and chlorine in your drinking water and ice cubes. You'll notice the difference!

LT700P / LT700PC Compatibility

The LG LT700P / LT700PC Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter (part# ADQ36006101) is compatible with the following LG refrigerators.¹

The sale of counterfeit and deceptively labeled water filters is a growing problem in the U.S.. 3rd party filters are not guaranteed to properly filter water in your LG refrigerator and may cause damage not covered under the terms of LG's warranty. Always use new LG filters with your LG refrigerator. It is essential that the manufacturer's recommended installation, maintenance and filter replacement requirements be carried out for the product to perform as advertised.

What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water has particles in it. After the initial six months of operation, I started to experience low water flow from the drinking water feature of my refrigerator. I reviewed the trouble shooting section of the LG refrigerator owner's manual and it recommended changing the water filter. I inserted the new filter and the flow returned to the higher level that I experienced upon the new refrigerator installation. After 2 months of operation using the replacement filter, I started to experience limited water flow. I changed the filter again. Again, after 2 months of operation, the flow has been reduced. I live in an area where the water quality meets federal quality standards. Replacing the filter every 2 months is price prohibitive. PS: I have read your guidelines for writing reviews and this review does not violate any of your guidelines. + Pros: Style/Design ✘ No, I do not recommend this product.

How can one tell if a filter is genuine or counterfeit?  I see filters being sold at reputable online stores that some reviewers claim to be counterfeit because of slight differences in packaging, size, weight etc.

Asked by: Dan62
Many consumers, perhaps attracted by lower prices, are being duped into purchasing counterfeit water filters. These convincing but fake filters, which can be nearly impossible to distinguish from the real thing, may put consumers’ health and property at risk. AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) and its refrigerator members Amana, Beko, Blomberg, Bosch, Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gaggenau, GE, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, LG, Maytag, Miele, Samsung, Sub-Zero Wolf, Thermador and Whirlpool, along with testing and certification organization NSF International and the Water Quality Association, have a 'Filter It Out' campaign to call awareness to the significant problem of counterfeit and deceptively labeled refrigerator water filter. It’s often difficult even for experts to tell the difference between a legitimate model and a counterfeit. Sometimes, they’re only distinguishable by differences in weight. Consumers can avoid purchasing counterfeit water filters by buying replacements only from trusted manufacturers.
