Language & input

Use the Language & input menu to select the language for the text on y our phone and for configuring the on-screen keyboard. You can also manage your language dictionary for personal words that you’ve added.

• Language: Sets the language to use on your device.

KEYBOARD & INPUT METHODS

• Default: Sets the default on-screen keyboard to use when entering text.

• LG Keyboard: Checkmark to select the LG Keyboard to enter data. Tap the Settings icon to change the following settings:

  • MY KEYBOARD

    • Input language and keyboard layout: Sets the keyboard language and layout (QWERTY and Phone).

    • Keyboard height and layout: Allows you to adjust various height and layout options for your keyboard to make it easier for you to use. These options include QWERTY layout, Extended keyboard, Keyboard height, Keyboard theme, Split keyboard, and One-handed operation.

  • SMART INPUT

    • Path input: Checkmark to enter a word by drawing a path through all of the letters.

    • Show word suggestions: Checkmark to show words through text prediction.

    • Show emoticon suggestions: Checkmark to show word-related color emoticon through text prediction.

    • Auto-correction: Allows you to set your level of automatic word correction.

    • Update word suggestions: Uses Swype Connect to provide more word suggestions. To use this feature, accept the Agreement Rights.

    • Additional settings: Allows you to set other keyboard options to enhance your text input. Sets advanced settings, including Vibrate on keypress, Sound on keypress, Pop-up on keypress, Autocapitalization, Auto-punctuation, Spell checker, Suggest next word, Bilingual suggestions, Clear word suggestion history, and Personal dictionary.

    • Help: Displays additional keyboard help information.

  • Google voice typing: Checkmark to select Google voice typing to enter data. Tap the Settings icon to change the Google voice settings.

    • Languages: Allows you to set the language(s) supported with Google voice typing.

    • “OK Google” detection: Allows you to set when saying “OK Google” will start a Google voice search.

    • Speech output: Allows you to set when to use speech output.

    • Offline speech recognition: Enables voice input while offline.

    • Block offensive words: Toggle this setting On or Off. On will hide recognized offensive text.

    • Bluetooth headset: Toggle this setting On or Off. On will record audio through a connected Bluetooth headset.

SPEECH

• Voice Search: Allows you to set various voice search options.

• Text-to-speech output: Sets the preferred speech engine and speech rate (very slow to very fast). Also plays a short demonstration of speech synthesis and displays the language status.

MOUSE/TRACKPAD

• Pointer speed: Sets the pointer speed on a slide bar.
