What people are saying
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, but won't wake up after sleep I got these via Woot, and I've attempted to swap to a thunderbolt cable instead of the supplied USB-C hoping it would solve the issue. Result is I constantly have to pull cables out of the MacBook and plug them back in. This resets brightness and in general is pretty annoying. I see people online state cables, or firmware updates, but after almost 8 months now I've had no luck. I have no idea if its Mojave power issues or the monitors. Either way its 2 step backwards and one step forward.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good 2nd monitor for 2017 iMac I mounted it on a vesa arm and we are using them side to side. Color and detail match the 21 inch 2017 iMac almost perfectly. Speakers were a surprise bonus. Only complaint is that the usb-c cable was not long enough to hide by passing down the channels in the two arms. However, it probably would be if you are using a double monitor vesa mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect "wide screen" for a relatively work area Works great with MacBook and Apple Magic keyboard. Excellent color and clarity. Speakers not bad either for a small desk and work area. Simple set up.

Hi, does this monitor have an input list for multiple devices in it's menu, in case I want to connect my iMac and my Xbox One X at the same time and switch between the 2, if so, would they both be displaying 4K resolution? Thanks.

Can this monitor be used in Europe without a power converter? I'm assuming this is the case because the specs say 100-240V, but I'd like to know for sure before I move.

Asked by: Lizzzzz
HI Lizzzzz. The LG 22" Class UltraFine™ 4K IPS LED Monitor (21.5" Diagonal), Model # 22MKD4KA has a power rating of 100 - 240 V~ 50/60 Hz 1.4 A, so you will not need a step-down converter to use it abroad. Depending on where in Europe you move to, you will need an adapter for the plug on the monitor's power cord to fit into the electrical sockets they use since they use different types of sockets from those used in the U.S...^IFV

I installed the LG Screen Manager today from the App store, and updated the firmware of the display. However I don't have the "screen split" tab/functionality in the LG Screen Manager. Is this expected? Is there a missing step to set this up?

Asked by: emirpprime
The LG Screen Manager has been optimized for MacOS to provide a variety of multi-screen options and should enable you to automatically divide the screen on the LG 22" Class UltraFine™ 4K IPS LED Monitor (21.5" Diagonal), Model # 22MD4KA-B into two or four frames according to your specific needs. Regrettably, we are not familiar with which app store you downloaded the software from. There should be a download link on the monitor's support page on our site. You may want to download the software from there. The U.K. site may be different from that in the U.S. and if you need assistance, please contact the Support Center in the U.K., https://www.lg.com/uk for assistance...^IFV

Does the ambient light sensor work at all? I have been unable to find any report of its usage and it does not work for me in Sierra. Can you specify a combination of Mac and MacOS where it can actually be used to automatically adjust the brightness?

Asked by: Lee3
The Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) should work fine. To find how it works, open System Preferences and select Displays. Enable "Automatically adjust brightness" and the computer will use the ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness. You can also check if Mac OS is updated. The ALS operates in accordance with Mac OS and some Mac OS doesn’t support the display ALS. If all mentioned above don't work, try to place your hand on the ambient light sensor and check if your screen will turn black. If not, then the ambient light sensor might not be working. ^AC

How can I adjust the brightness of the ultrafine 4K in Windows? This only seems to work in macOS. In Windows I can only change the brightness of my MacBook's screen. The slider for the ultrafine is missing.

Asked by: Lee3
This monitor is designed for Mac OS only. To change the brightness, it will be thru the settings of Mac. ^AC
