What people are saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Responsive Display I've had this monitor for around 2 weeks now replacing an Acer XB271hu. I wasn't expecting a huge upgrade in visual quality but this display has surpassed my expectations. Motion clarity is a huge improvement with how fast the pixel response is on an OLED panel. I'm still getting used to how everything looks on this display but so far I am a fan. The panel coating is not hugely noticeable after a few days of use, though glossy would have been a nice to have. Oddly enough the variable refresh rate of this monitor seems to work much better than my previous Acer with GSync module. HDR leaves something to be desired, the feedback from many reviewers is accurate that the panel does not get too bright with HDR on, but SDR content still looks great on this monitor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful display The colors are amazing, darks / blacks are insane. I don’t find the monitor too dim. Only complaint is that some games believe it is a 4K monitor and set a 120hz refresh rate in full screen

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could have been amazing! The OLED future is here! Unfortunately LG used a matte coating which ruins what could have been the #1 monitor of the year. Maybe they'll be more in touch with what their customers want on the next revision.

In the display settings, I am only able to select up to 144hz. How do I change it to 240hz?

Asked by: jchow41
Look for my review for the solution. google "LG ultragear locks hz to 120" theres a youtube video about it. The stupid tv drivers override the computer drivers within the monitor and force it to go into 4k which is limited to the 120hz. When you remove the tv resolutions from your pc (this is not permanent, just device specific) youll be able to play on 240hz.

How long is warranty time and does it cover burn in?Does this monitor have screen refresh, that runs each 4 hour of usage? Does the monitor have build in heat sink?

Asked by: anon8890
The LG 27'' UltraGear™ OLED Gaming Monitor QHD with 240Hz Refresh Rate 0.03ms Response Time, Model # 27GR95QE-B comes with a Limited Manufacturer's Warranty of 2 Years for Parts and Labor from date of purchase. The monitor includes a Screen Move feature that moves the screen minutely at regular intervals helps to prevent panel noise caused by images that have been fixed for a long time. It is recommended to set this feature to On. If there is no movement on the screen for a certain period of time, the screen turns off automatically. It is recommended to set Screen Saver to On. Image Cleaning corrects screen problems that may occur when the monitor is turned on for a long time. Calibration will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The matte finish you've applied to previous monitors like the GL850 was universally hated, and criticised. We've waited years for a 27" OLED and you apply the one feature EVERYONE universally hated.

How do you turn off ABL on this monitor? I couldn’t care less voiding my warranty for this annoying gimmick. Not my fault that you guys have a hardware limitations unlike Alienware QD or ASUS ROG Oleds.

Asked by: Timmy123
There is no way of turning ABL off on the LG 27'' UltraGear™ OLED Gaming Monitor QHD with 240Hz Refresh Rate 0.03ms Response Time, Model # 27GR95QE-B. That is how OLED Panels work regardless of brand or manufacturer. The power consumption of OLED panels is highly dependent upon the content displayed. With a pure white image, every pixel must be lit, while with a pure black image, every pixel is off. As the display has a maximum power usage, this opens up the capability for OLED displays to allocate more power per pixel to create a higher maximum luminance when not displaying a full-white image. With a low APL on OLED panels, (like a small 1% or 5% window size of white), the maximum peak brightness is usually achieved. This peak brightness then reduces normally as the window size increases, and that is when ABL kicks in. There will be a maximum brightness that the screen can reach and sustain for a pure white image (100% APL), but then if you reduce that APL you’re able to re-allocate power to only the brighter areas and therefore drive up the peak brightness in those situations. The point at which this ABL feature kicks in based on the size of the APL will vary on different panels. So this ABL feature is really a feature of how OLED panels operate. ABL is generally only a factor for HDR content, where the true peak brightness of the panel can be realised...^Ivan
